    Kyoshi Island is pretty big, I don't think Kyoshi [Avatar] would break off a chunk of island for one village. I figure there are more than one, but they work to together as one village.

    do you have to be born with the ability to bend or can someone teach you how to?

    And the thing about Kyoshi villages...I figured there had to be many villages because the mayor of Kyoshi said that Suki and the other warriors went off into the war. There has to be hundreds if not a thousand warriors because it would be pointless to join the war and there are only twelve of them. Right?

    Kyoshi is one village, but that doesn't mean there's only a few dozen people there. It could easily have hundreds or thousands of people.
