I am an adult (or so I'm told), but I can only tell you why I like the program. It has a plausible continuing-story line with likable characters and pleasing animation. The stories have adventure, intelligence, humor, and a feel for history.

IT'S FREAKEN AWESOME!!!! THE BEST SHOW KNOWN TO MANKIND!!!!!!!!!!

Not forever but it should end at season 4 what ever new adventure they have to do.

Avatar can't last forever. Eventually the writers will get sick of it and the storyline will tank, but I hope it last as long as possible!

This has probably been asked before, but I really don't want to search through all the posts so hopefully somebody is willing to help me anyways, LOL

Ive always wondered about how long??the series will go on for, and I??figured 3 seasons. [book 1,2,3 - water, earth, and lastly fire] After reading through these boards, that definitely seems to be the general conscensus with everyone else as well...

What I want to know is:?? has there been any actual confirmation of this?! Like from the network or writers themselves, etc...?? or is it still possible that the show could continue past it's 3rd season, albeit with a new series "arc" or whatever...?

I really appreciate anyone who has any info on the subject, thanks in advance!!

It says somewhere (I think under the full summary in the show mainpage) that it was planned for three seasons, but talks of a fourth in the work, and Nick wanted to continue the show.

    hey thanks! that was fast

maan, yes! that is such great news if they are 'in talks'.. makes me SO happy!! they will definitely find a way to continue the show, I'm sure everyone has to know that defeating the firelord can only open many more huuuge storyline possibilities!!!

(oh hey, p.s. when you say the show's mainpage, do you mean the summary here on tv.com or on the official page on nick.com? )

Always a possibility they will continue the series having one of the other avatars has the main star or even a season of exactly how the war started, the avatar universe is pretty big..it just depends how popular it is after they defeat the fire lord

that's the thing Air and Earthbenders have no amplifires...unless a magnet counts...

It's very interesting that while Waterbenders and Firebenders get their powers from the sun and moon, Earth and Airbenders learned their style from animals and don't appear to have a source.

It seems the opposite elements have something in common!

When you think about it, there are all sorts of similarities between two different Bending Arts - for example, Fire and Airbenders can do their bending just about anywhere, while Water and Earthbenders need an external source.

Yes and there are many forms of earth and water, but not so with Air and fire!

Another one is that earthbending and firebending are mostly agressinve, while air and waterbending are mostly passive.
