I think you got your phases backwards. I said the new moon which is when you cannot see the moon at night. A full moon is when you can see the enitre moon at night. But if firebenders temporary lose there powers during a solar eclipse (sun is blocked out) then do the waterbenders lose there powers during a New moon when the moon is gone?? Like they did when the moon spirit was killed. And if anyone was wondering (I saw a thread about this at nick.com) that why katara didn't use her healing powers on the fish.

Healing powers can't revive the dead.

Sorry about my last post, I really thought it said full moon, not new moon, in you question about whether waterbenders could bend during a new moon. Sorry.

All right, I have a ridiculous question which I'm embarrassed to even be asking-- but apparently not TOO embarrassed, because here I go--

When a female firebender(like Zula/Azula) is involved in an Agni Kai, does she take her top off like the guys? If so, does she get to wear some kind of FN bra/sport top or does she have to go completely au naturel? Seems like the latter would definitely give women the advantage...

I think they have to wear a special top because otherwise it would give an advantage to the guys (if they are interested in only fighting).

Yes, technically speaking, I agree. But the other way around, ladies would have the advantage of distraction...

    Zula vs. Zhao:
Zhao (staring): "WHOA! Check out those bi--" (incinerated by wall of fire)

    Zula vs. Zuko:
Zuko: (quickly covering his eyes) "WHOA! Naked sist--" (incinerated by wall of fire)

For the SAKE of nickelodeon she'll probably be wear a tank top like thing, BUT if you were to something like this on G4TV barbwire biscut or CN Adult Swim... well who knows. In the animatrix (finale flight of the osiris), which my sister thought was a "kids" cartoon show until they started cutting each other clothes off. And somehow that sort of reminded me of Avatar, I can't exatly put it into words what I'm trying to say.

Here's a random question (sorry if it's been asked before, me memory's slipping in me old age).
Earth Benders can manipulate coal, right, so... can they make diamonds?

I've wondered that myself. I guess theoretically they could. I thought they were doing stuff with gems in Omashu. (OK the stuff on Katara and Sokka was just rock candy, I know...) I don't know if an earthbender could actually create that much pressure though! Maybe 100 earthbenders all working together.

I'm going to say no. To create a diamond out of coal one would need to focus tens of thousands of lbs. of pressure and for an extended time.
