Hey... let's get back on topic here.

I was browsing through Borders bookstore today, enjoying a little "me" time, when I came across the first Avatar Cine-Manga. It was just the pilot episode, BUT the last few pages were devoted to detailed descriptions of the peoples of the various nations, and it had some info on bending that I'd never seen before! I didn't really see any new info on waterbending though.
So here, straight from Cine-Manga, is some new (to me, anyway) info on AIr/Fire/Earthbending:- In the Water, Earth and Fire nations, there are benders and non-benders (as we all know).
However, ALL Air Nomads are benders. This puts an end to some of those theories that maybe there were non-bending air nomads who managed to survive and escape somewhere. If they're out there, they're benders.
- Firebenders have powerful attacks but very few defensive maneuvers. (Makes sense.)
-
Firebenders lose their powers during solar eclipses. This, too makes sense, but it's interesting that this was specified... makes me wonder if there's an eclipse in the show's future?
- Firebenders cannot bend underwater (duh!). Their powers are also weaker when it's raining.
- OK, this one kind of freaked me out:
Earthbenders can apparently manipulate magnetic fields in rocks and minerals, including the minerals in their own bones. The book said that they "can magnetize their limbs to stone", enabling them to do weird things like climbing up cliffs and stuff!
