    What would happen to the firebenders during a solar storm, or during the aurora borealis (northern lights)

    Would they get supercharger or something along those lines

    Iv got a question some people may find awkward. Chances are if you've gone far enough to post frequently on this board, you pretty much love this show a hell of a lot and wouldnt miss an episode premiere for your life......not a bad thing at all, everybody loves some kind of show. But, is anybody hear embarressed to talk about this show with friends at school. Im not bragging at all, but its the truth when i say im the "cool " kid in my class, and if anybody i know had a single idea that i watched this show, i would be the the laughing stock of my class. ALSO, im 14 years old,,,you dont need to answer this,,but im just wondering how old everybody else is around here. This was somewhat odd for me, my 4 year old step brother chants AVATAR,AVATAR, AVATAR, when it comes on, he loves the show, im thinking to my self "Wow, i enjoy this show as mch as he does, and hes 4", but it also got me to think "He doesnt appreciate the real plot of the story and he doesnt really understand it" so its not the same type of comprehension of the show.

    Does anybody else have these kinds of reactions, i fell at home here at the board, a place to come to talk about a great show without the fear of criticism, and be around friendly people, iv done horrible things at the gamespot forums and nobody would forgive me there, i feel this is a place of acceptance. Im just wondering if anybody else would be made fun of or cricitized if anybody else your age knew you loved this show the way you do. I just needed to get that off my chest, its been bugging me for a while.

    i feel the exact same way with harry potter. all i hear is all these eight year-old sayin' they like harry potter, but it's WAY too complicated for them!

    I'm 17, and if people in my grade found out i liked avatar, they wouldn't even know what i was talking about.

    I wanted to post this before going to bed. I understand what you are saying. I'm not in school, I have a job and a kid. I don't really talk about liking this show at work b/c no one would understand. I love coming here to talk about it and for my friends here. I think it's a guilty pleasure. Everyone has one.     And about Harry Potter, i never got into it that much,,i just read the books, but here is what i think about that,,and Avatar. This show (and HP) is like a coin, its got two sides to it, one side is made to appeal to younger kids for the comprehensable theme, and easy to follow story. The other side, is made to appeal the adult crowd and teens, beyond the surface of the show (HP book/movie) is an in-depth storyline and a true message little kids are not mature enough to understand ot appreciate. Thats how i see this, i see the show Avatar for what it is to me, a creative work of art with genius creators and something me and other teens could relate to, becuase if you look at it close enough, Avatar does really show and send messages, we are all on a journey (Aang) and some of us have hardships (Zuko). Its a show we can all relate to, and i know i shouldnt care if people know i watch it,,,but it almost seeems as if its better this way, it makes me feel unique.

The classic animations (even silly cartoons like Looney Tunes) and fantasies share that quality, I think-- they have different facets that appeal to people of different ages. I can talk with my 5 year old about which bending fight is the coolest, then I can turn to my fortysomething husband and discuss Fire Nation politics and all the little religious/cultural/mythological references. I never get tired of talking about it.

    I too, wish sometimes that I had fellow fans around me that I could discuss the show at length with (my hubby really doesn't like to admit he likes it, even though it's obvious). But you know what? You all are really great and I enjoy coming onto the forum and getting to discuss our "Avatar secret". I love the fact that we are all different ages and come from different places and backgrounds.

    How true. We are different, but this place joins us together. The younger people help me feel younger. The people my age make me feel normal. You're right Citoreh, I shouldn't care what my "live" friends say, but here I can say what I want without feeling a little embarrassed.

    I surely couldnt have been the first person to bring this kind of topic up, i hope none of you felt awkward talking about it, you sure dont seem to be at all, but its cool to see how others react, it gives a sense of relieg, ya know what i mean.

    Well, anyway, does anybody think they should have included Zuko in the banner, it seems just so plain, but then again, i dont know why im complaining because its bettter then nothing.

    17 years old is a decent guess based on "ice dodging" age (for Sokka, but it makes sense for rites of passage of the other nations, too), Iroh allowing Zuko to audit a military strategy session (Iroh accepted Zuko as an adult), and three years since Zuko's been exiled.

    No, it's been three years since Day of Fire Judgement. He's nearly seventeen, I'd say we'll we his seventeenth birthday somewhere in Book 3: Fire.
