So, this question keeps coming up over and over again in my mind, so I do a little research, but I can never answer the stupid question. Does Avatar appeal more to boys or to girls? I know that it appeals to all age groups, ethnic groups etc., but do boys find this series more interesting than girls? Or vice versa? Do you have more boy avatard friends or girls? I can never figure this question out, so maybe someone else can for me.

Very very interesting question. I'll tell you what, I'll make this the poll on the Question/Answer thread. That'll give the issue more coverage.

Thank you Tom, in the meantime, I'll continue awkwardly asking people if they are Boy or girl fans. Get the dilema LOL

Females rule the world so it's only common sense that they would watch the show more.

Actually, I believe it would be fairly equal. My brother watches the show also.

I'm a girl, and my little sis likes it too. I would think that fewer teenage boys would be open about watching a cartoon show.

I'm a girl. My brother sorta, kinda.. likes the show. A little bit. But he never go as far to say he's a fan. He'll watch episodes he hasn't seen before sometimes with me if he's bored enough.

But I'd say boys a little bit more because I can see teenaged guys being more open to watching the show than girls my age (maybe a little younger than me, 13-17 range) being since they might be little adamant about watching an action cartoon show. However, I think at some point people just come to a point (Ew, I repeated 'point' in the same sentence) where they stop caring what people think about them depending on what shows they watch. I know I don't care anymore. I stopped caring after I graduated from high school.

And so we reach an impasse. There seems to be more boy nerds and therefore more boy Avatards...

Our people are still working on the statistics. We shall keep you informed.

I think the beauty of Avatar is that it not only can be enjoyed by people of all ages, it can be enjoyed by both sexes too. It's very rare that fandoms are aplit down the middle like the Avatar one is. I know D+J is, but not many others.

I could be very stereotypical and say 'teh boiz lurve teh fytingz and teh gurlz lurvez teh shippingz' but that's simply not true. I know that the girls enjoy the fight scenes and I know for a fact that a lot of boys (myself included) can appreciate the shipping side too. (I'm not gay like the Backstreet Boys, guys can be sensitive too! Actually, it's the sensitive ones that score, because chicks dig them)
