I'm actually pretty sick of the shipping. Crack (shipping) is for me, thanks. And I really don't like generalizing based on gender; it's one of my main pet peeves. But sometimes I can't help notice how close-minded both boys and girls are on certain things.

I'm a girl. My brother sorta, kinda.. likes the show. A little bit. But he never go as far to say he's a fan. He'll watch episodes he hasn't seen before sometimes with me if he's bored enough.

But I'd say boys a little bit more because I can see teenaged guys being more open to watching the show than girls my age (maybe a little younger than me, 13-17 range) being since they might be little adamant about watching an action cartoon show. However, I think at some point people just come to a point (Ew, I repeated 'point' in the same sentence) where they stop caring what people think about them depending on what shows they watch. I know I don't care anymore. I stopped caring after I graduated from high school.

Same here. Girls just don't like admitting it. Boys don't either, but if some one comes up and claims to watch Avatar, they'll admit to watching it too.

This is what I love about avatar. It has action, humor, and drama in equal measures, making it a great show for all ages and sexes.

Our people are still working on the statistics. We shall keep you informed.

Actually, instead of taking the raw numbers, you should use percents. If the one side is about 10 or 20% higher, then that side wins. Right now, it is:

    Female: 45%
    Male: 55%

I'd say males have a slight lead, but since the two sides are 10% apart, it's way too close to tell.

Indeed. However, if it would help you get sleep at night: I'm a girl. Also, I got a large amount of my family insterested so my mom, my 6-yr-old brother, two of my aunts, one of my male cousins and my grandma are all fans. (One of my male friends is also into it too.) Avatar=Family friendly

I did not mean that this show does not appeal to both, I simply wondered which side had the highest number of viewers. As stated on my first post, this is just a bit of research I am doing.

Of course, both demographics watch the show for the same reasons, but there are other reasons that STOP people from watching the show, my question remains, Which is there more of? Boy or girl Avatards? This is made apparent by...

    B+G=C-PP=FV

    Which means...

Boys+ geekiness = cartoons-Peer pressure=fewer viewers. However, boys succumb to what's cool less easily than girls, and many boys are leading happy nerdy lives. The equation for girls, is more complicated.

    G+S=A-LCA

Girls + Shippings - Avatardness, - Less cartoon attraction.

This means that boys like cartoons more than girls, however...

    TB+ASH=A

Tom boy + Action suspense humor= Avatardness.

By this ratio, the final standings should be boys 55% and girls 45%, as being a tom boy isn't seen as being a bad thing as it used to be, so there is freedom and liberty to watch as we please.

Tell me if I got it right.

I say it would be about equal but on the other hand me, one of my sisters, my parents, one of my aunt and 2 friends so that makes 6 girls watching the show to 1 boy. But I dought that is acurate to the real average.

Tom, is this a primitive form of thread bashing? JK

Anyway, girls have taken over some ground on the poll, just so everyone knows. We know stand at the evil 50/50 marker, so wherever things go from there...will decide the fate of my day.

More like a primitive form of shameless self-plugging.

It started out 67% to 33% so boys still have a chance I hope. If not then my 55% to 45% theory was trash. Maybe it was the tomboy equation?

Does it matter, really? I mean, I don't want this thread to start a gender stereotype; especially when it comes to my love, Avatar.

Seriously, how many times must I explain? It doesn't matter as the show appeals to ALL AGE GROUPS AND SEXES. This is just a study I'm doing, and I was wondering about. I am not offending anyone. I just want to know.

Ok. Sorry, I just get annoyed when people try to make stereotypes out of everything.
