The whole "animation is starting to look really weird" has gotten me disapointed and mildly upset. As we all know Avatar was known for its superb quality of animation, now Sokka has this messed up face, Katara has a slightly messed up face and she looks fatter or you know like "clumpy-ier", Aang's face and clothes look a little messed up along with Toph's clothes, and jet looked really different, not as good. Overall everything isn't as fluid, or as "realistic" (I guess) as it once was. Some really good animated episodes, were Jet, Fourtune Teller, and City of Walls and Secrets. This weird looking animation trend has been in The Chase, a little bit (barley noticable) in The Desert, Tales, and now Lake Laogai (spelled it right?) Any one else noticed this, or just me? What's happening???

Topic: Animation going down the pooper?

Me: Nope. Just as nice as it always was, to me. Just different animation studios.

It is definately different!! Everyone's eyes look all weird, and it looks like everyone's wearing mascara. This is the same animtation from the desert! WE WANT THE REAL ANIMATORS! NO MORE BACKUPS!!

I notice the difference in Sokka's face. His face is more rounded and kiddish. His chin used to form something like a \_/.

My sister was going crazy saying that the animation in Lake Laogai was different, but I couldn't notice it. So personally I still love Avatar's animation.

Notice the huge difference in Sokka's face in The Desert between the other two? He looks horrible! Looks like a freakin' kid.

i agree. i saw the difference, too. it was like, you know, too cartoony. go to youtube and watch lake laogai and then go back and watch the very first episode. it's so different. i liked the originals better. season 2 has brought some weird-looking animations. this never happened in Book 1.

Oh, now I see it. I did notice they looked weird in some episodes, but I didn't realize it was that drastic of a change o.0

The way the characters looked in Season 1 were probably better than in Lake Laogai, but it isn't as if the animation is going down the drain, or anything. It was just a different animation studio doing the animating, they have different studios doing different episodes, that's all.

Yes, but the new animation is worse. Therefore, it is going down the drain.

Actually after the Desert, they got the good animators back so that doesn't mean Sokka going to stay the same.

I don't think you can much compare the two, because the second picture has an odd angle to it. That affects how he looks. While I agree the animation is different *bear in mind there are two animation studios, and if there weren't you wouldn't get episodes as quickly!* I don' think it is worse.

Still, all of the really good episodes are ruined with the crappy animatin. Seige of the north, the desert, Lake Laogai

i think the animation's great even when others say it not one of the prettier ones...i don't really notice much of a difference..but that might be because i've watched a majority of the episodes on youtube
