Same here. I've been here for about two-three months, just when people were realizing Avatar won't be on for a while. Luckily I did get to see the craziness that was slight pre-KCA and post. The Spongies freaking out was hilarious.

Boy! you missed out on the bikini threads. I got banned though...

Who was u on that thread?

I didnt post much at all, mostly a lurker around that time and I only said one post in another bikini thread "sigh". For that I was banned but at least I got to see it all

ahh, the bikini body thread. That thread got more users banned/supsended then any other thread in history. Also, trying to be funny, using satire, sarcasm or making a point through disagree with your opponents source will get you banned or suspended, unfortuantly.

Yeah thats were I posted my first hentai pic

Oh man dumbTVnut was totally nasty on that one.

But he censored it mine was em more revealing the mods never found them & there all deleted now

WOW. I joined during the 9(or 10) Month Wait.

Remeber all the Awakening pictures? Yea. WOW. And the hype all over the single Awakening picture that was the one with the hugging.

But anyway, I just can't believe this is happening. Some of the mods are just being too pushy for my taste. I mean, I wasn't an obsessive till about mid-season 2, but I was a lurker here for a while and I know exactly what you guys mean by the "good time and dark times". This really needs to be straightened out. I don't like it. We don't like it.
Just because we are slightly off topic or sarcastic doesn't mean we should get banned. It's going overboard.

I have to get to bed for work in the a.m. however I was informed late tonight that you CAN appeal the banned status on TV.com if you feel you were unjustly stripped of your membership.

The moderating supervisors to email through TV.com are danmod, Jaxiecracks and/or nilla_chelle01.

I would suggest that anyone who feels promptly moved to do so, please write an appeals letter on behalf of SgtHydra and Nalesnik.

I will blog a suggested letter template when I am less livid about these events as my wrath will clearly do very little to aid in their reinstatement.

I will need a little longer to gather my thoughts in a calm, rational manner.

This is what the moderator specifically stated in reference to the appeals process:

An appeal to lift a ban should be directed to a staff member. If a person would like to contest being banned, it would be best for that person to send an e-mail to support@tv.com as creating an additional account to dodge a ban is a TOS violation.

You could also send a message to that account or contact a staff member via PM. If you choose to PM a staff member, your choices would be danmod, Jaxiecracks, or nilla_chelle01.

I realize that absolutely nothing could come of this process, however *not* trying anything will absolutely result in the ban remaining for both of them.

    We have to try.

    Blessings always,

    Lisa31468

I was grounded from computer during the time they got banned. What exactly were they banned for?

And the mod was only sort of right. The TOS are non-negotiable, but they rarely flamed for real, and I don't think it's fair that we're stifled because of someone being overly sensetive.

Now Foxy, you aren't the only geezer around here. I've been around the bend a few times too. I just didn't pay as much attention. I remember posting on the first Friday Party Thread, which is the great great grandfather of the Off-Topic Lounge we have now.

I lol'd at Blaster earlier. C1991 and SalFishFin were the same person. He got his ...less than cautious... ass banned twice. And I say that with all the brotherly lub in the world, you know that.

Besides, the good ones always come back. It's not particularly hard.

Take it from the Mother of the Avatar Boards: The mods have turned this Avatar forum from a place to chat and joke and correct grammar to a straight-up killing fieldz. SalFishFin, carmellina, Atu_1, Sgt. Hydra, and Nalesnik were all victims. Who's next?

AVThunderbird got the ban hammer too lawl

The simple answer is that following the TOS is not optional at this site.

As stated in the thread we posted in the forum, posting in before the lock is off-topic and disruptive as it has nothing to do with show discussion. The purpose of the show forums is to provide a place where users can discuss the show.

While sarcasm is not synonymous with trolling, it can be used to troll or flame other users. The best practice is to refrain from posting something if you are not 100% certain that it's not a TOS violation.

I'm sorry to hear that you are all unhappy with the way we are treating you in the Avatar forum, but we are not handling that forum any differently than we handle all the forums on the site. You are free to contact a staff member if you have a complaint regarding the site policy.

I can find something wrong with this statement. First of all, what other forums could you find that their channel's treated them with disrepect, how many forums you gonna find with more noob overloads than ours? And how many forums gotta spoiler book that some troll might post and my army might just flame? Huh!? Yeah I thought so.

Aren't we allowed to set our own rules within the forum? I mean, we are a high-volume forum and we have tried to regulate ourselves by creating purposeful threads for things like questions, shipping discussions, games, spoilers, and so on and so forth, just so we can be organized and everyone knows where to go. If a n00b shows up and pollutes the forum with unnecessary threads (and I'm guilty of this too, but I am usually big enough to admit when I do it and I apologize), don't we have the right, nay, the responsibility to set said n00b straight? And you know, some people are too thick to understand anything but flames. I mean, when you show up to this forum, it's not like it's not obvious where to discuss which topics.

Noobs are users too and even though they are often obnoxious but that doesn't mean that its okay for a forum to make its own rules and treat them disrespectfully. The mods have to consider the best interest of all tv.com users even if they're users we dont particualry like. In the case of spoilers we have a right to set up specefic rules. But lets face it, we tend to freak out over every little thing that doesn't follow the overcomplicated rules and expectations us vetrans know.
