why isn't spongebob manager of the krusty krab like movie end?

    at the end of the spongebob movie, spongebob was made into manager by mr. krab, so why isn't he the manager in the new episodes. are these new episodes "prequels" to the movie

    This has been discussed many times before. Some say that the movie takes place after the series because it shows that SpongeBob has 374 employee on the month awards, but in the series, he only has 26.

    True or they don't follow up on the episodes after the movie like some of the shows do.
