Why doesn't Nickelodeon air episodes in the right order?

That's the question I often wish I had an answer to. Why does Nickelodeon do that? It really annoys me, because there are often unaired episodes which I really want to see soon. Sometimes, this can go to the extreme level. Take the Goo Goo Gas issue, for instance. Its partner episode, Le Big Switch, aired in September 2007, yet Goo Goo Gas didn't air a year and 10 months later. Doesn't Nickelodeon have any idea how annoying this is for the viewers? Feel free to share your thoughts about this issue.

Meh, who knows, maybe since it airs so much they want some variety and not just air episodes from a single season? Ah, who knows, I don't have Nick but it does sound a little inconvenient.

I'm not sure why they do that, but it is kinda annoying.

I think maybe the premiere weeks they're used to do have something to do with this; you see how sometimes they do the premiere weeks with a specific theme? or maybe Nick simply likes to torture us.

Yeah. I agree with you 100%. I still think they should at least do some first-airings of the proper episode pairs for a change. It's so annoying, because we first think we have good episode pairings, but the real episode pairings turn out to stink. Just take the ones from the 2007 Thanksgiving Marathon. I thought all of the pairings were perfect, just since I thought the quality for each paired episode was well-matched, yet the real pairings turned out to be completely different. My favorite episode from that marathon (Two Faces of Squidward) is paired with one of my all-time least favorite episodes (SpongeHenge). Nick definitely seems to enjoy torturing us.

I think it has to do with which episodes Nick thinks will get the highest ratings and, as Jelly mentioned, the theme of the episodes. It doesn't even matter much anyway, since "SpongeBob" has no continuity and is not one of those shows like "Avatar" where you have to air the episodes in order otherwise the story doesn't make sense. I do, however, agree with CDCB that they should go back to premiering two-segment episodes at a time rather than just a single segment each time. It gets rather annoying how every two or three months they hold a premiere week where they promise 5 new episodes, but only show 5 segments, technically making it 2 1/2 episodes. Why can't they just go back to the good ol' "every Friday night" system?

That's what I've been saying since Season 5. Please Nick, two episodes on Friday night, THAT'S how you do it!

I know. It is the right way to do it. It's more fun because we have something to look forward to each week. If you ask me, I'd prefer even just one episode segment each night, just as long as it was each Friday. I seriously want that old system back, so anything close to it is good enough for me.

It feels insanely cheap when a new episode is paired with a really old one.

SpongeBob is not a conturious thing like Pokemon is. It doesn't have to be in order. For example, if they air a pokemon eposode where Ash had his Grotile then they air a new eppie with his Turtwig, viewers will defrently know they'll not in the correct order, they;re be like "What happened?" "Did Turtwig evolve without us knowing?" In SB, it's not like that. Tell me if this made sence to you or not.

Well at the end of "Dying For Pie" Squidward does say "ow" and he actually made contact with the exploding pie, so if he didn't die I doubt anybody in town did.

He said something on-topic that I corrected. I simply answered a question, I didn't start a new topic.

    Hey, it's alright.

Ya, anyway, everyone is right on saying that SpongeBob doesn't need to be aired consecutively because there's no continuous storyline. However I do think they should air in order.

But this has logic in it. Goo Goo Gas could have aired in September along with Le Big Switch. After all, Le Big Swiitch isn't a special type of episode, is it? Yet they chose t oair it on July 19, 2009--almost 2 years after they could have, So usually, it actaually isn't alays logic, but you can hopefully see what I mean.

They did the same thing thing before where they premiered Shanghaied in 2001, but Gary Takes a Bath did not air until 2003. I don't quite understand why they do that, though.
