Spongebob really likes his job right? But I don't get why he likes it so much. Mr. Krabs doesn't even pay him and working at the Krusty Krab is nothing more than working at the Burger King! I'm confused.

I guess that fry-cooking is his hobby, other than jellyfishing and karate.

He get's a quarter a month or something like that. Even sweat shop worker's got paid more than that. But Spongebob doesn't do it for the money, fry cooking is his passion.

He enjoys it because it's something always wanted to do. He doesn't care for the money, only the satisfied look upon their face, after eating the burger.

Frying cooking is one of the lowest jobs out there. So I think it is a clevor idea for the show to have its main character so passionate about something anyone can do.

    Exactly.

This is one of the thing's thats stopped the show from tumbling completely downhill. Such a simple idea!

Actually when you look more closely you can see that SpongeBob considers it as not simple at all, almost like an art form that only the most skilled proffessionals--A.K.A. him--can do.

Do you remember "Help Wanted?" That pretty much sums up why he loves being a fry cook. His first words were "May I take your order" after all.

True, but it is one of the most simple jobs out there, compared to desgining games, fixing computers, scientific studies etc.

I know, in reality it would be painstakingly simple, but in the SB world it's, like I said, considered a very....um, how should I put this??...unique? talent that is seen almost as an art form. Take the fry cook boots for example, or the fry cook museum.

Yeah. If I saw stuff like that in real life, I'd pinch myself really hard, and then run around screaming.

Well, he originally got paid a more realistic amount, but like all things, the new writers take everything too far, expecially Krab's skinflintedness.

Anyways, I agree with the people that say that fry cooking is his passion. Although, I like the idea of him someday opening his own restaurant, a sort of diner-type place.

What makes you think it would be a "diner-type place"?

We've all seen how serious krabby patties are for people in Bikini Bottom, they make riots and stuff when thye don't get them. So for Spongebob being the "artist" that brings happiness to Bikini bottomite's stomachs is like a blessing from above , after all, he said that he've been training for years, so it's not as simple on SpongeBob's world.

That's exactly it. You just hit the nail on the head.

Just a quick note, I only said that it is what I would like to see, not that I consider that it would happen. Just wanted to give brief memo.

    The reason is:

    A: I like diners.

B: They serve burgers, but also many other things, mostly comfort food, but I've seen more and more offer specialty dishes, with an ethnic twist.
