It'd certainly be taking a big step for the show... I mean just imagine what the show'd be like if that happened. They'd live together having a normal married life but at the same time having wacky adventures... it'd certainly be weird. I personally just can't imagine Spongebob getting married. Not to Sandy, not to anyone. He just seems... not a very serious type. Think about it. Ten years back would you have ever guessed he'd get married?

Well, that's cool i guess, Spongebob with Sandy kinda came out of nowhere, but they can easily put the build up during the flashbacks.

If this is finale, awesome, since they have been on sharp decline, sure this season kinda saved a bit, but like The Simpsons, it'll end soon and go to a faster decline.

Well....I can't watch the YouTube videos right now, but I know I'll barf when I do. I think YouTube videos tend to take any ideas WAY too far.

And, although some people may think marriage is a great step for this show, I don't know if it's for SpongeBob. I can't picture his and Sandy's relationship being the...same. Plus, I think a lot of little kids would be either ecstatic or angry about it. Lots of little kids like this show because of all the wackiness....a marriage for the main character could destroy that. I mean, if you decide that two characters should get together, you should make sure it's something the fans want. Not sure if that applies here. I don't hate the idea of Spandy...but it won't work for everyone.

Well, it is 'Flashback' AKA it will happen, in the future, just like how the events of the movie will happen, in the future, so, even if they continue the series after this special, they can keep it the same, since the marriage would happen in a distante future they don't need to show again.

^Good point. It doesn't have to be in the show if it will only happen in the future.

This episode was found on Amazon.com and not wikipedia?! Wow... Seriously though, Sandy and SpongeBob getting married? This is a kid's show for heaven's sake! No way can this episode be true... what has gotten into the writers now?

This whole idea just screams this >

    Hahahaaha.. I love that pic!

Anyway, either way little kids aren't gonna like this relationship stuff. Or some older kids. Our spin-offs often include violence and romance much more than SpongeBob, but I think most of us were aiming for a show for older kids.

SpongeBob is a show for the family though, and I don't think marriage will do any good.

Plus, SpongeBob is getting a seventh season, so is this going to be a Season 7 finale or anything?

violence is cool if done with character and in a civilised (technological rather than wrestling) style... like laser swords and death stars. relationships are fine but in excess ruin a show. Spongebob is fine as it is imo and doesn't need fanfic-esque shipping to enhance it, rather it would detract. Even in a future flash forward it would still ruin the normal nature of the show...

^I think it would be awkward to see them married. Now if he was marrying a sponge OK, but not SANDY. Not that I hate her...it's just a bit odd. And although they're good friends, I can't see them liking each other any more than that.
