Hey, I'm so glad there is a forum where I can talk about spongebob. Let me tell you I am 16. I don't watch spongebob much anymore, but sometimes when it is on. I used to watch it a lot when I was a young kid.

Man, the old episodes were wonderful! For example, the idiot box, or SB-129, or sleepy time (the one where he goes into other people's dreams). I miss them.

I don't think I'm the only one, when I say the new episodes all suck...what the heck has happened? All these new episodes are just bland and pointless, and nothing like the old episodes. I wish there was some way to contact the people who created spongebob. I will miss the good old spongebob dearly...oh well. Am I the only one?

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to include band geeks, another favorite. So many favorite episodes, I can't list them all.

I know what you mean. The old ones were awesome. The new ones are....bleh. It's like SpongeBob lost his touch almost. :/

I HATE the new episodes! The new characters are not like the old ones at all!!!!!!!!!!! Spongebob is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying in the new ones and is messing up Squidward's life a lot. (Ex. Good Neighbor, Skill Crane, The Thing.)

I'm kind of too old for Spongebob too, and I have the exact same outlook on the new episodes. They're trying to be all, "happiness, friendship, ect" and it's really annoying me. I've also noticed that the dialogue goes quicker and someone basically cries (and, or sings) at least once in every new episode (not that I analyze this in my spare time...).

Welcome to the forum Nabbig! In response to what you said, I also think that the new episodes aren't as good, although I think the new season is great. However it is still a bit lower than season one in my book, and way bellow seasons two and three. I miss the old SpongeBob too and think they should fix him for the upcoming season.

All i can say is, stop moaning about it!!! Only because it happens ok, every TV series has its ups & downs (even something like the Simpsons, which is loved by millions) Nobody is perfect and after all this show has actually been through, since the very beginning, it has got my full, deepest respect :-) P.s. can't wait for Goo Goo Gas and that western one, something different, which is good.

Every series except South Park, of course. I hope nobody attacks me for that previous comment Anyways, yeah I really do miss the old eps when I actually looked forward to watching an ep instead of merely looking at it with distaste whenever it pops up on tv. SEASON FOUR AND FIVE SUCK!

Yep, I agree with pretty much everybody here. Why is there so much singing, also? Anyway, I still watch the new episodes, even though I know they will probably not be so good. I need to go to nick.com and see when they are though...I haven't seen the last few new episodes. And yes, atlantis squarepantis stunk. It dissapointed me a lot.

Also, on the new episodes, I feel like squidward is the butt of everybody's joke, and he always gets hurt. First it was funny, but now it's too much.

I think the older episodes were more clever than the newer ones, but some of the things on the new episodes are kind of funny.

Don't give up on the Sponge just yet, the brand new season could be off the charts. Maybe the makers have seen the public's reaction to season 4 & 5 plus the TV movie and are going to bring back the old sponge to us.

I see what you mean about the fourth season, but most people seem to like season five.

I agree, the show has kinda lost its touch. Compared to seasons 2 and 3, this show is going downhill with a few bumps.

Hey, I guess I look forward to it. I mean, I feel new spongebob episodes will not be good, but I like to watch them anyway. I don't get to watch spongebob very often, but I hope I will be able to see some new episodes. I also have to catch up with some other recent episodes I haven't seen. Anyway, let's see what the new episodes are like. I wish we could contact the people who make spongebob.

S1 was great, S2 was awesome, S3 was reveloutinary, S4 sucked balls, S5 was great.

I love S5, but the show is kinda going downwards.

Well you say four seasons are good except for one, so four out of five, why complain? I think a reason why people are getting rid up is because there isn't anything new; there still isn't word about season 6 or the end of season 5 but I heard that the writers are on strike or something (Google news) has anyone else heard about this yet? Note it was a while ago like late last year.

I do miss the old spongebob, it was classic, a wake-up-Saturday-morning cartoon, sort of the replacement when CN cancelled Looney Tunes. The show was clever, but in the latest seasons has lost its underwater elements. Bubbles when waving, or even running don't appear. Stories are more candid. Real images are scarce if any at all. The underwater light-wavy reflection thing is less frequent. The hawaiin-style bamboo and flower wall print are barely ever shown. Characters interrupt each other (not really, but as soon as a sentence ends, another immediatley begins). Its going on the same crash course as ed edd and eddy, the town and people are revamped, for 2 seasons top, then goes down. So i am still proofing a letter to mr. hillenburg, producer, explaining how pepole like the old spongebob. They have too many new characters/songs. Sandy is too smart, Patrick is too dumb, Squidward is too ridiculed, Spongebob is too annoying, mr. krabs, well, he's allright. The morals are all preachy now. I also agree, it CAN get better. They just need to be talked sense into. The Western one had too many songs, so did Atlantis, Best Day ever was okay. I think all the songs are publications for new CDs and money. I love spongebob and its old humor, the animation is good, but story telling isn't as good, vice versa for old seasons.

"Firmly grasp it in your hand"

    "Firmly grasp it"

    "FIRMLY GRASP IT!!!"

    I love that quote
