If they didn't overhype these things, then they wouldn't be such a disappointment. |

I liked the episode. I would've loved it if they stayed closer to the book For the Love of Bubbles, which the episode is based on. There are also some noticible differences. Like these... In FtLoB, SpongeBob never ran away because he felt unwanted. He orignally blew a bubble into the shape of a krabby patty and it blew away before he could show it to Patrick. Then he followed it out of Bikini Bottom where he trips on kelp and bumps his head on a rock. Sandy and Patrick are the only ones Mr. Krabs sends to go find SpongeBob, and Bikini Bottom doesn't go into panic when SpongeBob's gone like in the episode. SpongeBob's new name is not given to him by gypsies like in the episode. When SpongeBob is upset that no one in New Kelp City knows him, and old man gives him the name 'SpongeJoe BrownPants' (Not CheeseHead BrownPants) SpongeBob does not get fired from his new jobs for blowing bubbles like it the episode. He was fired because he kept making everything into the shape of a krabby patty for an unknown reason to him. The Bubble Poppin' Boys do not exisit in the book. In FtLoB, SpongeBob was elected mayor of New Kelp City because he ran in the election when he found out bubble blowing was outlawed by the old mayor. In the book when Sandy and Patrick find him as the new mayor of New Kelp City, SpongeBob leaves with them willingly to find out who he is, and the city does not go into a panic when he's gone since SpongeBob had made someone else mayor before he left. The way SpongeBob regains his memories in the FtLoB, he was brought to the Krusty Krab, and he made a krabby patty (like he had done previously as stated last reference) and when he ate it, he regained his memories. There you have it, the important differences between 'What Ever Happened to SpongeBob' and For the Love of Bubbles' |
