I, too, feel that SpongeBob has ripped me off. If it weren't for the fact that lots of the episodes thar don't scare me (there are a lot of them that do, but a smaller number than that of All That and The Amanda Show) are cool, I would just stop watching it. I feel the episode countdown was stupid, and that "Best Day Ever" was a ripoff. But what I believe more is that, while "Best Day Ever" was in fact a ripoff, the more important part is that it was over-hyped. It was unnecessary to count down the top 100 SpongeBob episodes just to lead up to that (I mean, it might be a teense more justified if it were a full half-hour, but it would still be a ripoff). On the other hand, I still like the song itself. But I still am very disillusioned with the episode. If this is Stephen Hillenberg's idea of "the best thing related to SpongeBob that anyone has ever beheld," I shudder to think what would be over-hyped next. What next? Will there be a parade to celebrate the new episode, "SpongeBob Learns the Trumpet"? A special event called "The SpongeBob Staring Contest," with a marathon of "SpongeBob's 100 Greatest Moments in Blinking"? I would say Stephen Hillenberg lost his touch, but I would have to see all the new episodes I haven't seen yet to confirm that. By the way, I have been watching SpongeBob since about a few months after it came out (and I'm not talking about the preview after the 1999 Kids' Choice Awards).
