if they go to like season 20 they will run out of ideas and have to use ideas from other show and definitly rip other old episodes off a couple of times, so i think it will go until, maybe, season 12 or something!

    i agree

I disagree. It'll take them 10 years to get through seasons 1-6. Another six seasons will probably last another 10 years. Do you think that this show will end up lasting 20 years, because I doubt that.

Very true, but the newer seasons seem to go past faster IMO.

Maybe it's all these new episode weeks.

That's very true, however 12 seasons still seems to be pushing it. I think they will have about 10 seasons. It could turn out to be more though, because I could be wrong.

Well, The Simpsons isn't half as popular as SpongeBob, and that's on season 20 now. So, I think you could easily see SpongeBob going 20+ seasons.

The probabilities of that is pretty much 0. First of all, in no way SpongeBob is more popular than The Simpsons, and second, I don't think SpongeBob's overall plot is strong enough to go on for more than, say, 15 seasons or so.
If SpongeBob isn't more popular than the Simpsons, then why are the Simpsons never in the top 10 ratings of the week, and SpongeBob usually accounts for half of the top 20. SpongeBob is a TV icon now. I don't see why it couldn't go as long as the Simpsons.

After viewing the weekly ratings, I think it is possible for this series to run until around 2018.

I highly doubt it will beat The Simpsons lol, but I really hope it beats Rugrats!!

You're actually right, but I wouldn't want it that long. Who knows how much the series may/will change by then.

I'd like it to last 2-3 more years, however it will surely last longer knowing it's popularity.

Yeah, Nick know they can make so much more money from it if they make it go on longer, and it's so popular that they CAN make it a lot longer.

Well we all know SpongeBob is one of the most greatest and popular shows of all time, so I can see this show at least being able to beat Rugrats's record.

Rugrats was the big show and the show to watch on Nick back in the 90's, now in this decade it looks like its SpongeBob's turn to take the spotlight.

Although this show has had some trouble in the past few years with some episodes, like some being too gross for example. I can see that this show is trying to make a comeback, me and my younger sister agree that although they are not quite as good as the first three seasons, some of the episodes were not that bad in seasons 4 and 6. Season 5 however... but even that one had some good ones like Roller Cowards and The Inmates of Summer.

So if this continues, Nick will keep making large sums of money, I'm sure they'll want to keep this show running for at least another 5-7 years.

Well, the simpsons are currently boring, so i highly doubt Spongebob could make it to season 16+ and not be as bad as the Simpsons back then.

10 seasons of spongebob, that would be the most without it starting to run out of ideas and do anything just to fill a season.

The difference between Rugrats & SpongeBob, and SpongeBob & [insert next phenomenal show here], is that many people will still probably love SpongeBob, and not many will like this new show as they think it was the reason SpongeBob stopped. I for one won't think that, but SpongeBob won't be forgotten as much as Rugrats was to some.

As long as it lasts long enough to beat Rugrats as the longest running Nicktoon, I'm content.
