I think so, i mean this show i used to watch all the time, now it feels like it got attacked by slobbering mutts that rubbed off some of thir ticks on this show because it is doing so horrible with some of thse new episodes.

Please understand, i loved this show so much back in its early years, that was when it was on top. This show was also a classic, and SpongeBob was doing great with good voice actors, settings, and plots for the eisodes. I was even more shocked to hear that this got a movie back in November of '04, and it was worth seeing it in theaters, because i was amazed on how great and detailed the movie was, I've watched it a dozen times on DVD and it never gets old, that's how good a job they did with not only the movie, but the earlier episodes.

Now all of a sudden these dramatically less skilled writers come in after the movie destroying SpongeBob in a high percentage of episodes where they think its funny by nailing certain cartoon characters and/or grossing people out which is known as the horrid "gross humor." And I absolutely despise that, I don't think kids need to see that kind of stuff. How many people do you think that kind of stuff is funny? I don't know anybody that does.

    Kids deserve better than this.

Does anyobdy have a clue about what's going on behind Nickelodeon's front doors? I sure would like to know the answer, because Nick i don't think has been doing that good lately. I smell some sort of conspiracy.

Nickelodeon though looks as if it is falling down further as time goes on just like what happened with DC and CN in the past few years.

Well that was the end of my explanation and news about what's been going on with Nick and SpongeBob, (also why have they been airing this so dam* much when they KNOW their show has decreased in quality? That's why Nick confuses me.)

Well i don't mean to sound offending to anyobdy so I was just making some points as to why something needs to be done about this. Has any past member here already tried to set up some petitions here? Because this show is losing some fans that used to love SpongeBob a lot (just like me) and I can't believe all this time Nick still continues to let their new writers destroy this show.

Either this show needs to be canceled to be put out of its misery, or this show needs to be revived by kicking these writers out and hiring back either the old ones (if at all possible) or new ones who have a lot of experience and have a more creative imagination and care about kids watching something worth their time, because i can't stand Nick continuing on like this much longer.

I agree with you 100%. Nick treats the show like garbage now, and they rarely have any decent episodes anymore.

I agree I say we make a petition for this at least on here, even though it probably will do no good, but at least its the thought that counts

I respect your opinions and Robin-Hood-1215 made good points but I do not understand what you guys mean by saying that Nick is treating Spongebob like garbage, I mean seriously people, open your eyes, didn't you know that Spongebob is Nick's top rated show? Don't you see that Nick airs Spongebob more than any other show, sometimes it's even annoying of how much they air it, but still, I thik that Nick treats Spongebob like a king, in fact, they should be kissing Steve's feet evryday because thanks to Spongebob it's still the #1 kids network on America, it even set a record the other days! Yes, the show itself have lost quality but how the heck is that Nickelodeon's fault? I mean, if they still ordering seasons is because people is still watching. So my final thoughts on this topic that bugs me so much is that yes, Spongebob is not the same after the movie, but that does not means that it has turned completely bad, I think a lot of people are exagerating and should respect Spongebob for what it is, a great show that will always be that way, at least for true fans like me.

Yeah, but here's the thing: if it is so bad why are they airing it so often? I mean, it is all that is ever on! Wall to wall SpongeBob! I'll have been watching it for 3 hours and then at the end of the episode they say, up next...more SpongeBob! Followed by...even MORE SpongeBob! SpongeBob is my absolute favorite Nicktoon, but yes I agree with everything everyone has said here. The episodes are getting worse, because...at least from my viewpoint...they're getting worse because they're making Spongebob and Patrick more and more childish. Every time they say "up next, more SpongeBob" they show this picture of him with this really weird gap toothed smile and it just looks so goofy! And the adult humor that used to go over kidsheads and into parents', such as, "too loose, Loutrec" is gone.

Same thing happened to "The Fairy Odd Parents," which is why their air time got decreased. A lot of Nick shows are horrible nowadays, but SpongeBob is still the best, to it pays to air it more. Personally, I'd like to know why 90% of TV show writers have lost their skill over the last few years.

I feel that The Fairly OddParents hasn't fallen downhill. Sure there has been a couple of bad episodes in season eight but it hasn't fallen downhill in main opinion! Well, not majorly. SpongeBob has fallen downhill majorly as you can see.

Exactly. I think Season 5 was the terror, and Season 6 has brought it back up. Although, like I've said a thousand times, there were the good Season 5's: Rise And Shine, Pest Of The West, Friend Or Foe, Roller Cowards..

its not that i don't hate spongebob because i definitely do not. you have to admit it has definitely fallen downhill after the movie. the fairly oddparents is still consistent but it just doesn't feel the same with the addition of baby poof. if spongebob could have any writers on nickelodeon, i wish they would have the writers from drake & josh or icarly because their shows are consistently funny in my opinion.

I thought you haven't seen Rise and Shine. Although I do agree those are some good examples of season 5.

Oh, no....you misunderstand. We don't hate SpongeBob, oh no no no no noooo....we could never hate SpongeBob (or, well, at least I couldn't); we're all just trying to accept and acknowledge the fact that it has had a decline.

I honestly have to agree on this. The episodes have this lack you feel, I mean I feel it anytime I watch the new episodes. It's the scrpit, the jokes, and the plots that are so terrible. I mean, a splinter!?! It could've worked if the new writers were on it.

I too agree it's gone downhill, but I fell it's unecssicary to keep on making threads just repeating the same thing.

Well hey, I only became a member of this site three days ago, so I didn't know there was so many past threads similar to this discussion.

Anyway i also saw a commercial for a new special called WhatBob WhatPants, the problem? Well unfortunately due to past crappy specials such as the Best Day Ever and Atlantis Squarepantis, I ain't gettin' my hopes up for it because it is probably going to be all hype just like many thought Pest of the West was. Honestly, i can't believe they got away with those, especially since The Best Day Ever got one of the biggest marathons ever for crying out loud, not only are fans and other viewers complaining about Karate Island placing number one, but seeing how short and lame the new special is, i'm sure that got many people who participated disappointed and/or upset, because if the Movie didn't show right after the special, there would definitely be a lot of angry viewers saying they watched the whole frikkin marathon for nothing. So the Best Day Ever i thought (and i'm sure with many others) that it was a huge letdown, same goes for Atlantis Squarepantis but at least they didn't have a marathon for that, unfortunately it still was mega crappy (and what's with all the poor singing? Atlantis isn't High School Musical.)

Here's one more big problem we have here folks, Nick keeps trying to draw in viewers with their new so called "specials." The result? A percentage of people that is higher for those who hated it than the percentage for those that like it. Which leaves many fans more annoyed and refuse to watch it again. So why did they keep over-advertising it? To try and catch people's interests to see if they also like their merchandise (and I found out that a lot of advertisments have you buying something that is not as good as they show it) which is a scam and has you wasting money.

And I also know the media takes us for idiots too, they think we know nothing and we're as stupid as Patrick, which is completely false, that shows how much of a smart cookie i am. (But that also makes my point about Nick Jr. shows like Blue's Clues and Dora The Explorer, the host of the show keeps on acting like you need extreme teaching if you know what i mean, even though its for younger viewers, still, some little kids are smart too.)

*Sigh* well I don't know what Nick has planned next for SpongeBob after this next special airs. I just hope maybe, just MAYBE, they tried better with this special and is worth more of your time at least a little bit.

And I still like SpongeBob somewhat, just...you know...much more back during and before the movie.

Actually FOP is in season 7. And in my opinion I think FOP and SB gets funnier every season! True, little kids could get grossed out by some parts, like Cosmo as pregnant, but it's still funny, and that's like all they wanted, people to laugh at their shows!

Nick is also trying to imitate Disney by showing more live-action movies. Like this Gym Teacher: The Movie I keep on seeing on advertisements?

I certainly don't think i'll be watching it, as seeing only the previews has me thinking this about the movie: What the heck is this? Who wears short-shorts? Oh my god what a weird song, the movie just looks kind of boring, and also MEGA corny.

If Nick is trying to imitate Disney with this moive, it looks like they're gonna fail this time.

I think about the only truly great show Nick has that isn't canceled that Nick will get in a while is iCarly, but wth? I'm even seeing some negative reviews about that show! Sheesh, and i could think of FAR more worse and cheesey live-action shows than that one like WOWP and The show with the overhyped singer with the blode wig, you should know who i'm talking about. Even worse garbage would be OoJH! So i don't know why some users are starting to attack iCarly so often when there's clearly so much worse live-action shows out there. Who knows, maybe they got nothing better to do because they already got bored bashing the other cruddy live-action shows.
