What do you all think Spongebob's age is? Many things that he does in his life contradicts with his expected age.

He's old enough to drive and work, you have to be 16
He's old enough to live on his own, you have to be 18
He's been working at the Krusty Krab for a year, so he's 19. Since no body really considers him to be an adult.

A close-up of his drivers license in the episode "Sleepy Time" and "No Free Rides" reveals that he was born on July 14, 1986. However, Stephen Hillenburg wishes for the characters to be ageless.

i belief that he is in his 20s since he already went to highschool and didn't pass driver's ed and he has a job so hes in his 20s

In the episode where he dreamed he got his drivers lisence it says he was born in 1986 which means he will turn 21 this year.

And the thing to remember is that SpongeBob is based on a Sea Sponge, which are living animals albeit they behave like plants. However, like all animals, sea sponges have ages.
