I don't think it's such a great idea because they already did a good job making the one movie as it was. Why ruin it by making a sequel? Also, most of the show's good crew left and, by looking at the new episodes, it would just flop.

I guess with the reputation sequels have, I see where you're coming from. But look at the other cartoons e.g. Pokemon, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo etc, they've had their share of more than one movie & are still around. The thing that confuses me, is this is very popular right and still its not getting the right treatment

No Offense, but I think the Spongebob SquarePants Movie 2 should be about something else. It should Be Calles: "THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE 2: BATTLE OF BIKINI BOTTOM" And it should be based on the Battle of Bikini Bottom Video game and it should be around 100 minutes long.

There is no telling what the results will be, however I say that, if the creators decide to, believing that it will turn out well, then go for it. I would find it interesting to see SpongeBob in his job as manager, and a new plot. It would be interesting to end the series with another movie. However, what could be a problem is the issue with money. The first one was expensive, so I don't know if they can do another. But I am open to another movie, although I wouldn't expect it to be better than the first.

maybe the 1st one was expensive because they had to put animated spongebob and patrick in the live action world with david hasselhoff

I would LOVE to see a 2nd SB movie, because I never got the chance to see the first one on the theaters and it's now my favorite movie. But it would be successfull just if Stephen directs it again. It would be an awesome "10th Anniversary" celebration idea too!

I heard about that but they were gonna call it The Long Journey Into SpongeBob's Past or something like that. Just goes to show you can't trust rumors.

This a very good idea! I, me at least, would like to know the early years of Spongebob's life!!!

Where you see the movie information, below the gross revenue and distributors, after where it says: followed by: Atlantis Squarepantis, it's THERE. I double checked.

if not, look up "2009 in film", and on the bottom where all the movies with the unannounced released dates are, the movie's there too.
