I don't know, but it might air in a week of new episodes. It's kind of too early to say when it will air, because the episode was just revealed a few days ago.

Because, since the show first aired May 1st 1999, a season will end at around that time. "Spongebob vs. The Big One" aired Friday, April 17, 2009 and was the season 6 finale

Well, to be fair:
Sandy, Spongebob and the Worm/ Squid on Strike- Season 2 Finale- aired October 12, 2001
Spongebob Meets The Strangler/Pranks a lot, season 3 finale- October 11, 2004
Gift of Gum, season 4 finale, Feb. 19, 2007
Banned In Bikini Bottom/Stanley S. Squarepants, season 5 finale- November 23, 2007
So it seems around October/November the current season will end. Not to mention they all have 20 episodes, so whenever they air they many.
And your theory about the show starting at one time and ending seasons around that time, isn't entirely true. Many shows start in September and don't end till May, about 4 months before they started
