I bet everybody notices this: Where's the Krusty Krab 2? Why is Plankton STILL making plans to steal the forumla? I mean, seriously...is the movie completely non-canon to the show? NOTHING in the movie is in the show. Either the writers aren't true to the plot, or the movie is non-canon.

That's because the movie takes place after the show. Hillenburg said it himself.

Which means they should have ended this show after the movie, either that or they should have produced more episodes having the show last for a little while longer and then show the movie.

Think about it though, ten years is great for this show, but when the movie premiered in 2004... maybe Stephen Hillenburg thought that the show making it to its 5th year anniversary would have been good enough?

If the movie was the last episode, why has the show been renewed? Popularity and money of course, but things go poorly, there's been a lot of worthless and trashy episodes especially in season 5.

But honestly, in my opinion, the movie should be coming to theaters this year to end the show, for the big 10 celebration, Stephen Hillenburg never stepped down, and the old writers are still here, I just know they could have produced more great episodes for another five years. That's the way it should have happened, but sadly it did not. How tragic.

This looks to be a no-win situation now really. Nick's just way too messed up now.

I was almost in tears thinking about how unbelievable that would be.

    CANCELLING SPONGEBOB AFTER 3 SEASONS?!

I'd rather American Idol & Family Guy never existed, and I like those shows a lot!

I didn't say I wanted this show over after only three seasons, I'm glad its still running for more years to come.

I'm just saying I wish Stephen Hillenburg didn't step down and the old writers were still here, maye this show would be still doing great and a lot better. Like after the first movie they were still here working on more episodes featuring all the sequels and what would happen after the movie, then feature a second movie this year for its tenth anniversary. Then if you want the show running even longer he would have more episodes made for another 5-10 years and then end with a finale third or fourth movie to hit theaters. See where I'm getting at?

Because after only one movie, Stephen stepped down, and the show hasn't been doing that well. If he hadn't stepped down maybe the show would be doing a lot better.

Yeah, it's a shame that it's not the finale. Not in the sense that I'm saying that the show should end after the movie, because that woukd be sad, and other then the change of writers and as a result a change of style (it was a stupid idea really, a really stupid idea), the show hasn't declined in quality from the new episodes I have seen (I will admit to have not seen much of the new episodes, as the only series I have seen every single episode to was Season 1, which was amazing by the way).

The reason I am saying it's a shame it is not the finale is because it means that when the show ends (yes, every show has to end someday) there won't be a proper last episode. The last ep will have to be an ordinary episode that doesn't wrap up anything, and I personally find last episodes that are like that annoying, unless I know that nothing was wrapped up because the creators have plans of continueing the show sometime in the future in one form or another.

I am also aware that I haven't posted on the SB forums in ages, and I bet you've all forgotten about me, so hi....again.

I think the last episode should just be a regular episode.
Cos we all (well most of us) know that the movie comes last in chronological order.

I wouldn't have wanted the show to end after only three seasons, as it probably would've suffered even more. However, I don't think the show's classic writers should've left, but it's not like the current writers aren't giving it an honest effort. They are, and I they're doing a competent job with season 6. Aaron Springer is the one who concerns me, though.

Yep, he was the "Cartoon Genius" of the show since season 1. Now, he writes some of the show's worst episodes like "Penny Foolish" and "Professor Squidward".

Is that a sign that Aaron Springer has turned on us? Its not just him though, I mean, SpongeBob's old writers are now working on a lot of crappy episodes for a putrid and crappy show called The Mighty B! Now... so I think they've all turned on us. My God man its like everyone who is now working for Nick has turned into wackos. I can't believe The Mighty B! even got its own DVD! The horror!

Maybe we all shouldn't watch Nick anymore, that way they'll learn their lesson. If you guys want to watch SpongeBob, just watch all of your DVD's.

Nick just infuriates me to no end these days, what is their fricking problem?

Things were so much better back in SpongeBob's glory days, the movie was awesome. Too bad it came only after three seasons, but sadly the show ending only after three seasons would suck too. But gee I don't know, a lot of these new episodes especially in season 5 suck rhino butt and smell like rotten cabbage.

The good thing is the show is still running, the bad thing is that most of the season 4-6 episodes I hate! Many others hate them too.

Again seriously this really looks to be a no-win situation really.

P.S. This is exactly the reason why I hate tv's new generation this decade, a lot of it SUCKS!!!!!!!! I want the good old 90's shows back.

Nick is absolute a$$ now a days. They air SpongeBob waaaaaaaay too much so everyone hates it know, they cancel all their good shows, the shows they have on the air now are horrible, they revived Mr. Meaty and they gave that hack Fred a TV appearence and like a million dollars.

I agree with everything you said. Nick needs to leave Mr. Meaty in the hell pit from where it came, if they don't then madness will ensue. Nick's head exec I think is one of Satan's annoying ignorant assistants.

Let's forget about Nick right now though before I explode.

Well, at least we can look back at the good Nick, before it turned into this hideous atrocious atrocity.

Anyone think Mindy from the SpongeBob SquarePants movie was cool? I miss her! I also Miss Dennis and David Hasslehoff! The movie was definitely a gift from the Gods. Ah, good times, good times. You're a Goofy Goober yeah, we're a Goofy Goober yeah... The patty mobile rocked. And SpongeBob super ROCKED at the end with his awesome music! I could go on all day...

P.S. I also liked Nick better when they showed Avatar a lot more, but that's all I'm gonna say around here.

^Ah, OTHER people who hate Nick! You guys are MUCH MORE BRAVER than those in the FOP forum. A lot of people there are still being "polite" when saying their opinions!

As for everyone's opinions on Nick, I wholeheartedly agree. Nick was my favorite station when I was younger. Now, it's TERRIBLE. Half the live-action shows have horrible running gags and cheesy plot lines (excluding Drake and Josh) and the cartoons are even worse. I cannot BELIEVE that the writers of this show actually decided to abandon an ingenius idea for a show about a girl who talks to her finger. If I were a cartoon writer, I wouldn't destroy my career that way! Basically if it weren't for SB and FOP, I would be finished with Nick altogether...and those shows aren't that great either now. Honesly, I think just about every TV writer...especially those at Nick and Disney...are now investing their money on crack. That's why they try to shove HM and SB down our throats. For CRACK!

^Oh, so the movie was AFTER the series? I was wondering why there was no Krusty Krab 2! I guess they thought the hiatus was really a cancellation? But in one episode, Stanley S. SquarePants, doesn't SpongeBob tell Stanley he's the manager of the Krusty Krab? So, why is he so thrilled about getting the job a long time later?

Also, I love the Gooby Goober Song. And Mindy. And the bubble popping scene. And SpongeBob's song at the end! My favorite quote is:

Patrick: Did you see me in my underwear?
    Mindy: No.
    Patrick: Did you want to?
