The Animators Spend Too Much Money On The Animation Of Spongebob's Face

Do you think the animators put too much detail into Spongebob's face?

Do you think the animators put too much detail in Spongebob's face? I mean, come on every time, EVERY time, he has an emotional breakdown (which nowadays happens a lot), the animators seem to put in too much unnecessary and gross detail into Spongebob's face. It seems a waste of money and Spongebob's face freaks me out! What happened to the good old days when this only happened when SB went into a REALLY emotional fit. Even then, it was hilarious! Now, when Spongebob cries, I actually forgot this guy's identity and see him as a slobbering blob of eyebrows and tears. Seriously, do you think too much detail is in this guy's face when he cries, or something else like that?

I agree. Spongebob cries way too often now.

Perhaps you're looking too much into it.

Sure there might be a bit more detail, but does that affect the overall outcome of the episode? For example if you're watching an episode of Heroes and they've changed Claire's hairstyle does that affect how well the episode comes out? Or if you're watching an episode of Back in the Barnyard and they've changed around Otis' spots, does that change how well the episode is made? It doesn't or at least it shouldn't unless it's supposed to be part of the plot.
