Should the writers try something new with Plankton?

While I still find him generally entertaining, I'm tired of every single Plankton episode following this format: Plankton is depressed that he can't steal the formula, comes up with a plan, comes very close to getting it but then is stopped. They're all the same, it's quite annoying.

So here's what I suggest: new types of Plankton episodes. Maybe they could involve him and Karen, which have happened a couple of times (KO, SSA, P'sR), but without attempted theft or even mention of the formula. Maybe they could start a story arc about him being successful for once. Maybe they could show him doing everyday things in his life, like how most characters plots are. He could still retain his evil personality and there could still be episodes about him stealing the formula, but there would be varity in his plots. Do you agree with me that they should at least occasionally make episodes about him doing other things besides stealing the formula?

I definitely agree with you. I like Plankton and find his episodes hilarious, the ones with him and Karen (like SCA) tend to be the funniest. But they are kind of predictable, and I have always wondered what he does when he's not after the formula...for instance, does he have a job? Where do they get their money? What hobbies do he and Karen have together? I think trying new things with him would open a door for way more creative and humourous plots.

I half agree. While I'm not really tired of the Plankton episodes, I would be interested in seeing something new.

So why don't we make a spin-off of it.

But in all seriousness, yeah, it's always nice to have a difference.

Maybe have him reveal the formula, only to throw a fit because it ends up being so obvious that even Patrick could figure it out.

He should learn the formula or something. He needs more creative plots to get the formula. One really devilishly plot that couldn't possibly fail... and then somehow does.

Well, the only Plankton/Karen episode I really liked with "Single Cell Anniversary". Other than that, I've never been such a huge fan of Plankton being married to a computer.

Maybe they should make an episode where Plankton actually finds a recipe for a menu item on his own that the people of Bikini Bottom actually enjoy. So far, they've only done an episode where he builds his restaurant in an underground cave and another episode where the customers are only attracted to the catchy slogan Patrick writes.
