Many people who criticise the show usually go on about seasons 4 +, however season one to me had many episodes that were just not well received and pretty uninteresting with its animation style too the show definitely got better in season 2, but the first season had many uninspired episodes the first several episodes were just average and a handful were not even great, maybe good but nothing great the writing style was not really focused on humor either, if you think about it.

I think mostly every episode is good except for a couple from season 6

In my opinion, every Season 1 episode is a classic. I love the fact the animation style wasn't very good. It brings back so many memories!!

SB 129 was one of the better episodes; I mean not all were below average some were actually great, but there are more that were silly like Hall Monitor or just not interesting like Opposite Day.

I think Season 1 was classic! It was the start of a up and down story!

But the worst had to be Squeaky Boots; it was painful to watch.

I watched that last night, and I was trying to go to sleep, and all I could hear was the freakin squeaking!

Season 2 is what got me hooked, so I do agree somewhat.

Season 1 is a pure classic. I think every episode was flawless. Of course, season 2 is where SpongeBob got its attention from adult cults with its very clevor jokes and dialogue. But you just can't have a long-running show without the episodes that first got the show to that point.

Well, I've been watching (and loving) the show since the first season, I can prove that the season was a hit in my opinion.

With a total of 24 hits and 17 misses, season one opens to be a hit in my opinion.

In my opinion, every episode was a hit but Squeaky Boots and MM&BB 1 & 2. I'm not saying they're not good episodes, but they weren't as good.

I know! I really didn't like sqeaking.

Well, I thought that episode was funny. But I respect your opinion.

I liked it, but the squeaking got annoying. And out of all of the episodes in Season 1, it wasn't the best.

I liked some episodes in Season 1, especially The Paper. I wished they showed it more.

It was the beginning of the GREATEST SHOW EVER MADE! So yes it was a hit.
