    I read something like this in Wikipedia about a sixth season that was going to have only 13 episodes. I don't know if is true or not.

    but season 5 and the possible season 6 may have less episodes than the other seasons.

    Why are we talking about it now? Season 6 probably won't come until 2008 or 2009.

    I'm pretty sure they ordered 20 episodes for season 5. But I wonder why only 13 episodes for season 6... Other person is right anyway, at this rate, we might not see season 6 for a few years...

    They'll probably extend the episodes to 20 if the season gets popular.

    The makers of spongebob are running out of ideas... thats why there is only 13 episodes in season 6.

    SpongeBob is currently one of the most popular cartoons out there. It doesn't surprise me that there's going to be a Season 6. But if it's only going to have 13 episodes, does that mean Season 6 will be the last season? I was kind of hoping the show could atleast go up to Season 8, Season 9 or even Season 10. Maybe it will last that long if it continues to be popular like this.

    You can't really make that comparisment. SpongeBob is a children's show, while The Simpsons is an adult one. SpongeBob rules in the children category, while The Simpsons is king for adults.

    Actually, you are incorrect. TV shows start out by saying that there are at least 13 episodes, but they increase them as time progresses. That is what happened with Season 4.

    But they aren't even done with season 4 yet! How could season 6 air this soon??? They'll probably post-pone it. And also, I think the Tak show will be awesome and funny, just like the games.

    if they are running out of ideas they should  make episodes were SpongeBob visits his parents, they should also go to other cities, make parties, an episode were Mystery or the anchovies could return or many episodes of the aftermath of the movie and that would be cool.

    I wish SpongeBob could reach atleast 200 episodes and become the longest running animated show on Nick.
