    Tvshowsondvd.com has announced Season 4 Volume 2 for January 9, 2007.

    http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6463

And this will contain the second half of Season 4 (20 episodes). At first I wasn't crazy about the Seasons being split into Volumes but I've come around. And this means that all of the episodes of Season 4 will finish airing before January 2007.

So.... all those things people say about SpongeBob having 20 more episodes and then ending in production isn't Season 5, It's just 20 more episodes for Season 4?

Do you know if SB is going to end in production after this, or has it already?

No, when they say 20 episodes for Season 4 Volume 2 it means 20 15 minute episodes. There are 40 15 minute episodes in total for Season 4 (20 30 minute) and Season 5 hasn't begun airing yet. When Season 4 finishes airing in December there will be 20 half hour episodes for Season 5 which will air (2007-200. After those episodes air and depending on the popularity of the show Nick could either renew Spongebob for a 6th season or decide to end it.

    I hope they renew it

Yep. SpongeBob has been one of the highest-rated cartoons this decade, though.

It didn't begin its peak until 2000, so not really.

    I agree.

Basically 1999-2000 was its intro years, 2000-2002 was where it began its popularity, 2003-2004 were the horrible years where there were only 3 or 4 eps per year, and 2005-present is the show's comeback.

Yeah that's what I originally thought but Nickelodeon knows that splitting a season up and releasing that on DVD will make them more money than a whole seasoned boxset. Even though all of the single DVD releases they've released from Fear of a Krabby Patty-Whale of a Birthday already contains the first half odf Season 4.

What are you talking about? The Simpsons can't last forever either! They've been around for over 15 years now but that doesn't mean they can last forever. Or were you just kidding?

He probably means by forever that The Simpsons have lasted a very very long amount of time so far and still doesn't show any signs of ending any time soon.

I'm glad they're putting the DVD set in volumes. Mainly because I only liked the first half of season four! The second half is weeiiird! Like strange stuff happens to much. I liked SpongeBob better when it was more believable. I know some of the stuff was impossible, but because of how the writers wrote it made the story seem more real.
