OK We Know That Rugrats And Spongebob Squarepants were the 2 most popular Nicktoons In Nicktoons History! But Which One Is Better? I Think Rugrats is better than Spongebob! (p.s. if you never heard of spongebob you must have a sad life!)

I like both. Rugrats has the nostalgia factor because I watched it as a child, but I find Spongebob more enjoyable as an adult.

Both took a dive in quality, but in my opinion, Rugrats fell further. Therefore Spongebob comes out on top.

I don't know if it is out of nostalgia, or what, but Rugrats. I've been rewatching episodes of Rugrats recently on netflix, and i still love the episodes as much as i did as a kid (and back then it was like my favorite show). I'm not saying it is still my favorite show, but it is still good. The later episodes aren't as good as the earlier ones, and they had a lot of jump the shark esque moments, mainly Dil and Kimmy, but the episodes themselves were still watchable. A lot of the later episodes of Spongebob i have seen haven't been very watchable. That's not to say that the earlier episodes weren't good, nor does it have no good episodes later on.

I'm pretty surprised and somewhat disappointed Spongebob is going to end up defeating Rugrats in terms of longivity. IMO Rugrats is better. Especially the earlier episodes. Both shows have good/bad episodes though. I'd just say Spongebob has more 'bad' episodes then Rugrats did.

I love both shows. But I have to say that they both jumped the shark at some point and SpongeBob took that jump in a more extreme term. I'll have to say SpongeBob though because the older seasons were just too EPIC to lose to Rugrats. I still even loved season 4 of SB.

Lately, SpongeBob has been improving again because there are some Season 7 episodes that feel like I'm watching a Season 1- 3 episodes and then Season 8 came along and that's when it got better. They only the Season 8 episodes "Oral Report/ A Friendly Game" and "Sentimental Sponge"... those episodes are very good so far and they both got good reviews.

You already know that SpongeBob is my all-time favorite cartoon so I'm gonna say SpongeBob but I still like Rugrats as well... I kind of grown out of it but it's still watchable to me.

@mahesh2001,

Then why are you posting on a Spongebob forum? Why do you mention Spongebob even in things that don't have anything to do with Spongebob (your review of The Angry Beavers, for example)? Why do you waste your time to constantly say you dislike the show when all of us already know you hate the show? Seriously, if you hate it so much, just ignore it.
