    "SpongeBob", but I don't have a reason.

They are, in my eyes, both classic shows. "Rugrats" didn't go downhill, unlike "SpongeBob". I mean, "All Grown Up" is quite disliked because it's a spin-off of a golden series, and is not as good. However, I do really like "All Grown Up".

But I choose "SpongeBob" because I think it's generally a better show, and has a wider audience, even though "Rugrats" is a bit of a guilty pleasure for quite a few age groups.

I would have to say SpongeBob, but I thought Rugrats was also a pretty good show! (At least the early seasons of the original series anyway.)

But Rugrats is long gone now, so SpongeBob is a great show! And the only option right now if you want to fave a show that is not canceled.

SpongeBob, even though Rugrats is one of my all-time favorite shows, but that's because I grew with it. Last December I was watching the Christmas episode and I barely laughed, so I'm starting to think that what we feel towards older shows is nostalgia. I think, and hope that SpongeBob runs longer than Rugrats... 4 more years!

I remember I would enjoy watching the Rugrats episodes from the '90s. Now, Nickelodeon doesn't air it at all and Nicktoons Network only shows it a inconvenient times. I know the show is about babies and it had a rather subtle, but it was pretty entertaining, especially for people who like cartoons. I didn't watch it as much since they added Kimi to the show, because that seems to be when the show really got more childish.
"All Grown Up" was a good show as well, but with it being aimed at preteens with semi-dramatic storylines and lame humor, I found the show quite boring.
The thing with "Rugrats" and "All Grown Up" is that the newer generation that has already formed has completely forgot about it. "SpongeBob" is now the successor, and it may very well be forgotten in newer generations as well. However, every SB and Rugrats, may not be alike, they shared the same craze and have become an icon of their decades.

I agree. I also have begun to wonder if Rugrats isn't actually as good as people like to say it was. I mean, in it's old years it was good, but I have a feeling people like to remember it as being amazing, when it wasn't, if you know what I mean.

And I agree with both of you. I guess when I was younger I found Rugrats funny, but now that I'm almost 18, I just don't understand what I found funny about that show. I watched the same Christmas special and I didn't laugh once either.

I'm one of those people who DO like All GRown Up!, and didn't see a decline in Rugrats, however i only started watching in 2002 (reruns and newer episodes) so i'll have to say Spongebob, which i also started watching in 2002.

Yeah, rugrats was kind of good. But I like Spongeob more. In rugrats, they always mispronounced their words, turn such little things into huge adventures. I liked "All Growed Up" the movie, and All Grown Up the tv show.
