Ok, so these episodes are based on a similar theme which is "Spongebob can do incredible things with an everyday object and squidward thinks he's being stupid but becomes obsessed".

The idiot box is kinda special to me because it was one of the very first episodes I ever saw, but I will admit to preffering The Paper. I don't know if it was just because it's a Series 1 episode (my favourite series) or not, but I find it hilarious. Some highlights include Squidward plaining his clarinet and wonky notes falling to the floor, then Spongebob plays beautiful music with the paper and one of my all time favourite Spongebob lines is: "A pirate with an Eye patch! Arrr, I'm a pirate! A regular guy with an eyepatch! Arrr, I'm not a pirate!". LOL, that will never get old in my books, I laughed as I typed it

Ok, begin the discussion:

Ooooh, this is a toughie, but I'm gonna have to go with The Paper. Both were awesome episodes, but The Paper I love because its fun seeing SpongeBob do all these cool impressions and animal sounds with his piece of paper! That episode truly shows how awesome having an imagination really is, and also shows that you can even have fun with a piece of paper! So that episode is my choice of favorite episode on this poll.

Plus The Paper is paired with my third most favorite episode ever: Valentine's Day! (second favorite is Krusty Love, and favorite is Graveyard Shift in case you didn't already know.)

personally, i think The Paper is better. the part when Squidward gave all his stuff to Spongebob just to get the piece of paper back is hilarious
