Avatar is a great show, but it just isn't a classic. |
If it had a longer story ,otherwise it was just a fly-by-night show.

Even through a decline though, A popular show that millions of people know about won't be affected like that when it produces billions of dollars where the creators who obtain that kind of money are probably set for life. However, some of us though (like me) still wish that it can get better and somehow return to another golden age like it once did, there's got to be some possible way, every cloud has a silver lining.

I agree completely. Avatar is amazing (I love it more than spongebob, no offense), but it just doesn't fit into the category of classics.
Anyways, yes, I do think Spongebob will go down as a classic. It is already considered one.

Stephen Hillenburg and his writers crew (responsible for the memorable seasons 1 - 3), for some reason, left the show slowly after the Spongebob Squarepants movie prior to season 4. I suspect that it was a conflict between Nickelodeon and them over something although I am not sure what it was all about or how it began when the show was at its peak. Stephen Hillenburg would return rarely but usually for rather minor jobs. (ie. playing the harmonica in Atlantis Squarepantis) And was not as active anymore in the production process (yes, his hands are free from blood).
That ORIGINAL crew was the one which really got the show going and kept it popular. Unfortunately, the current cruddy batch of writers still rides on that wave of money, and more valuably, POPULARITY, ACCLAIM, and Spongebob's Marketability which the original crew worked hard for. And that Original crew doesn't get a paycheck any more for their services (but I think Hillenburg still earns royalties).

If you go up to a random person between the ages of 9-14, and say one of the following: "Happy Leif Ericcson Day! Hinga dinga durgen!" "The most important meal of the day, serving it up Gary's way!" "IMAAAGGGIIINNNAAATTTIION!" [Sing the Campfire Song Song] ...or something along those lines, they will recognize it unless they don't have cable. SpongeBob sure has made a name for itsself. |
