Isn't it a little unfair how all the main male characters on the show have had a love interest at some point? All of them, except for Spongebob.

Mr. Krabs: Mrs. Puff and Patricia. Patrick: Mindy. Gary: Snellie. Plankton: Mama Krabs and Karen. Squidward: Patricia.

I mean, the little square dude deserves some love, doesn't him? Most cartoon characters fall in love with someone, even a little crush or whatever. Nothing too big neither, so why can't they make an episode in which Spongebob actually likes someone??? Not necessarily Sandy, but what about another female sponge? That would be cool, and will stop all those people from saying that he is gay The only time we've seem him acting romantic was in To Love A Patty, and it was with a krabby patty for Pete's sake! O_o

    So, what you guys think?

SpongeBob has shown interest for Sandy in many season one episodes, as Sandy has done the same for him. Haven't you noticed this?

I think spongebob and the krabby patty would've made an excellent couple! But I don't really think it's unfair considering the fact that the other characters love interests didn't last.

Stephen Hillenburg once said that Spongebob was asexual. Poor Spongebob.

Can't you see? The writers wanted to make a point to the viewers in the episode "To Love a Patty" that SpongeBob is too innocent and too inexperienced for love. That's why they paired him with a Krabby Patty in that episode. They just don't want to ruin his character.

I don't think anyone has a crush on SpongeBob or vise-versa. But if there is a character that you think does, please speak up.

Spongebob is happy without love, for some reason

Remember, he Built his city on rock n' roll

Or should i say "Re-Built" his city

Patrica wasn't a real character. Patrica was Patrick's disguise in "That's No Lady."

Not everyone in spongebob has to have a love intrest. Would it be out of character just a little bit? The creator of spongebob did say he was asexual, so it would seem a little bit mary-suish to have a love intrest for him unless it's Sandy, even then it wouldn't seem like either one of them. I also have noticed that Sandy and Spongebob have shown some feelings for each other, but it wouldn't feel right to have them as a couple.

Ruin his character? Didn't they do that when Season 4 stared?

Of course, but all what I'm saying is that at least Squidward and Mr. Krabs felt in love with someone at some point (even if it was patrick on a disguise) but they didn't now, remember?

And to the whole Spongebob&Sandy thing...well, it seems like they have a crush on each other, but we've never seen Spongebob actually showing love interest towards a female character, directly. And so what that he's asexual? Can't he have a real someone in one episode? that's all I ask!

Well, he has showed love for Sandy. He didn't want to blow his relationship with her in "Tea at the Treedome", he was upset at how Larry impressed Sandy in "Ripped Pants", so he did something on his own. And a real Sandy/SpongeBob episode was in "MuscleBob BuffPants", when SpongeBob impressed Sandy by getting muscular gloves.
