they're making a sequel to Avatar (aka Avatar 2). They're also going to make a third so it can be a trilogy. Though I REALLY don't see the big deal with Avatar...

most of the praise it gets is for graphics. a lot of people say how good the graphics were yet they did not like the plot. THE PLOT IS THE MOVIE! If you don't like a movie's plot, it doesn't matter how good the graphics were or anything, you can't say you liked a movie if you didn't like the plot because the plot is what the movie is. I really hate it when people say this. The second has to do with the oceans of Pandora or something... it might be good i guess

I saw Avatar, andI thought it was great. Yes, the graphics were awesome (hard not like them) although I did enjoy the plot too

In the words of the Nostalgia Critic: "Pretty Effects + Lame Plot = Pretty Lame Movie" I just hate that it's every "Humans are bastards and should be nicer with nature but they're too mean for that" movie ever made, only in space, and i'm pretty sure that it's not the first one at that.

maybe I'm biased since I saw Avatar on DVD and it wasn't in 3D (it was a birthday present), but still- it's a FACT that the plot of a movie is basically what the movie is, and so it makes no sense to say the graphics were good, the plot wasn't, blah blah blah it was a good movie. Graphics are important but the plot is MORE important.

Effects are effects, they help with the feel of the movie, but it's plain wrong to say a movie's good BECAUSE of the effects. I mean, both King Kong movies had ground-breaking effects, but that's not the only thing that made both movies amazing, it was the story. I'll only care for effects/graphics in a video game, and even then not too much.

if a movie is good, it's because the plot is. the effects can be amazing but if a movie's plot isn't, it's 'wrong' to say that the overall movie is. and a lot of people i know say this about Avatar. How it became the number one grossing film of all time is simply beyond me
