    Who do you think are the top most important characters? I think it goes like this, in terms of seasons.

    Season 1:
    1. SpongeBob
    2. Squidward
    3. Patrick
    4. Sandy

    Seasons 2 and 3:
    1. SpongeBob
    2. Patrick
    3. Squidward
    4. Mr. Krabs

    Season 4:
    1. SpongeBob
    2. Mr. Krabs
    3. Squidward
    4. Patrick

    Seasons 5 and 6:
    1. SpongeBob
    2. Mr. Krabs
    3. Squidward
    4. Patrick
    5. Plankton

    Well SpongeBob is defenly important, the show is named after him! Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Sandy are important too!

    1. SpongeBob: It's his show, he's in every single episode, he is SpongeBob and wears SquarePants! It doesn't get more important than that!

    2. Patrick: He's SpongeBob's sidekick, what's a hero without a sidekick? He is in at least 90% of the merchandise. Funny, chubby starfish we all love.

    3. Squidward: There are more episodes with him than with Patrick, at least as main character. The grumpy neighbor that is usually disturbed have been the theme of many famous shows/movies, for example: Daniel the Menace. He is an awesome squid too.

    I'd say those are the top 3, and the reasons, no matter the season

    Well nobody really cares about Sandy. She's not really in much of the newer episodes.

    Well nobody really cares about Sandy. She's not really in much of the newer episodes.

    Sandy's character seems to have gotten smaller as the show went on. It seems like they originally intended for her to be one of the top characters, on the same level as Patrick. If you think about it, she appears all the time in the first season.

    I disagree. In the fourth season onward they seemed to be running out of storylines for SpongeBob and Patrick. So they lowered Patrick and brought up Mr. Krabs' importance.

    All of the main ones, apart from Sandy, who grew less important.

    Mr. K and Plankton grew more important in S4.

    I think Sandy's getting a little more important. She's appeared in 4 of the last 6 episodes.

    But there's mo way that Mr. Krabs is more important then Patrick and Squidward. I'd say he's the fourth main character, Plankton the fifth, Sandy the sixth, and Gary the seventh. Agree or disagree?

    It has more to do with Mr. Krabs then you think, I believe. Looking over the episodes from seasons four to six, the episodes now seem to dwell into SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs' relationships as working partners.

    I'd say Mr. K fourth, Squidward 3rd, Patrick 2nd, and in 1st SpongeBob.
