    Why are the characters acting like they haven't met the other?

    In Spongebob VS. Big One The Flying Dutchman doesn't recognize Mr.Krabs, probably because he he had a beard and later The Flying Dutchman says he dated his great-aunt but how could he know this if he haven't met him?

    In Pets or Pest Larry said he doesn't know Spongebob, probably because he could be embarrassed to be seen with Spongebob

    In Chum Bucket Supreme Plankton said he didn;t nkow Patrick but he met him DOZENS of times before.

    That is so confusing, are they going to keep doing that?

    They probably said all that stuff because neither of those characters have been in the show for a while, and they wanted to make a joke about it?

    and he probably said that to Patrick because...they barely see each other at all lol.

    Well that can't really be explained well. It could be have the new writers forgotten sometimes (but I doubt that since in "That's No Lady" Larry knew Patrick.)

    Larry is a jock, probably he just wanted to pretend not to know SpongeBob.
    Plankton doesn't actually care who he meets if they don't really affect him, if you seen The Inside Job and some other episodes.
    The Flying Dutchman never said anything that actually meant that he never knew Mr. Krabs.
