    According to Stephen Hillenburg, I read it in one of the episodes trivia, or notes, and I think it was in the Spongebob Volumes, that the fishes in Bikini Bottom are mutated, because of a toxic waste dumps, that fell in the water.

    When Stephen Hillenburg was supposed to be taking notes in college, he was actually sketching Spongebob!

    Mermaid Man's original partner was Barnacle Bill, who's body was a barrel!
