SpongeBob SquarePants: Is Spongebob for adults or children?

A little latitude please does anyone know who did the voices for SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward over the years? Then help settle an argument for us; is this an adult cartoon or is it for children? Here are but a few big names that enjoy it and feel that like the "Flintstones" which was originally for adults so is SpongeBob: Victoria Beckham; Johnny Depp; John Belushi; Bill Murray; Britney Spears; Justin Timberlake; Mike Myers; Bruce Willis; Kelly Osbourne; George Clooney and Mark Ronson all believe it is, what do you think? Thanks for your time.

Tom Kenny voices Spongebob, Roger Bumpass does Squidward, & Bill Fa*erbakke(there's a 'g' where the '*' is) does Patrick. I think Spongebob was intended to be for both adults & kids.

Spongebob is for kids, which is why it is on Nickelodeon, and not something like Adult Swim, but that doesn't mean adults can't still watch/enjoy it.

Like many movies and TV shows that are aimed for a certain audience, it misses the target. SpongeBob is aimed for children, but somehow, its' mild maturity appeals to adults. Like the film WALL-E, more adults liked it than children.

It's for kids, which is why it's childish. But adults can watch it too. I know lots of grown ups who like it, so it isn't just for kids.

SpongeBob is of course primarily aimed at children, but it has the TV-Y7 rating since it's not really intended for preschoolers. The show still uses non-innuendo jokes and dialogue that can act as an excellent stressball for many older viewers, which is why it has gained a cult following among adults. It's a family show, 'nuff said.

I believe is for any age. My granddaughter brings her own DVD, I sat with her and we laugh at it out loud. Now, some friend of mine led me to intrigue by stating that it was meant to laid the grounds for children to accept homosexual relationship, hence SB and Patrick relation ship. I'm not sure of this. Bugs bunny catoons had something of that- a male kissing another male for instance. This is what a have witness thus far. stealing gives you lot of stress , is better to confess and not to steal- free ballon day. don't get upset when someone challenges you, wheres the pickels. if and adult warns you about something you better listen, hooks episode. so on...

BTW we live in PR. I was born in USA so I understand English. she is a preschooler and don't understand English but sure knows how to talk in English , of course she is just playing out loud the words as she hears it. And she does very well.

Depends what episode...Some can be pretty dark and creepy like "squids day off" or "nasty patty". i think its for both kids and adults.

"Best Day Ever" is the only episode I can think of that would only be suitable for preschoolers.
