Do you think Patrick is out of character? Here are some episodes that proves my statement:

Battle of Bikini Bottom- Patrick was trying to spell ''you are not my friend'' to Spongebob

SpongeHenge- Spongebob needed help from Patrick to get away from the jellyfish, but Patrick didn't help, he said Spongebob's a negative influence

Gone- He said that he was tired of Spongebob like the others when they were celebrating National No Spongebob Day

The Splinter- Patrick did an attempt to get rid of Spongebob's splinter, but after a failed attempt, Patrick ended his shift, he barely helped Spongebob

A Life in The Day- Patrick lived dangerously, but his superstition made Spongebob live the same Patrick used to be. Did Patrick help Spongebob from not living dangerously? No!

Sun Bleached- Why the heck was Patrick wearing headphones when Spongebob was getting tanned?!

The only episodes in Season 5/6 episodes where Patrick wasn't out of charatcer are these:

Not Normal: He helped Spongebob become wierd again

House Fancy: He lended back Spongebob's brain.

You see? Patrick doesn't help Spongebob except the two above, Spongebob still provides to help Patrick. What do you think?

Hmm yeah I agree on this! I don't think that was like Patrick at all, especially in Gone, Patrick is SpongeBob's Best Friend, and he hangs with him all the time! So I don't think he should mind SpongeBob's Laughter and behavior! That just adds on another reason why these new Writers are pathetic! Not only are they too obsessed with gross and disgusting humor, but they're making the characters more mean and idiotic! Not to mention not themselves like when you mentioned Patrick! This isn't the way the Storyline of SpongeBob is supposed to be! At least that's what I think! I wish Stephen Hillenburg could come back!

he was ooc before the new writers came, in rock bottom he got on the bus without spongebob, he got on it the moment spongebob left he even said the bus is here right when he was on the bus and spongebob was behind it like he left him in rock bottom on purpose.

That may be true, but at the end of the episode Patrick gets back on the bus and goes back to get Spongebob (ironically about the same time that Spongebob maneges to get back to Bikini Bottom). And personally I think that the entire show went through a drastic change after the movie, not just one character. When people ask me what my favorite show is I say "Spongebob, seasons 1-3."

You don't write the story so how would you know how the story is suppose to be?

Let me word that more correctly: Yes I don't write the Stories of SpongeBob, I was Reffering to the Storyline of me SEEING the EPISODES Seasons 1-3! I'm saying that after Season 3 the Original Storyline from Seasons 1-3 has Changed, like the Characters seem at least a little different and what this Topic says, how they are Out Of Character!

I agree. He acts too smart or too stupid at times, and too mean! Larry's also out of character, being mean to SpongeBob and Patrick, and why do Squidward and Plankton have to have really bad luck, now, always failing at what they want to accomplish? Plankton appears so much now that he's looking to be a pathetic villain like Team Rocket from Pokemon!

Yeah, I've noticed his OOC in the new seasons. The new writers should just watch the old episodes and see Patrick's actual character.

MAKE MORE EPISODES LIKE HOUSE FANCY!

I DEFINATELY agree with spongebobfan200, Patrick is definately out of character in most of the new episodes! He's supposed to be SpongeBob's best friend, he shouldn't be able to find him annoying because watch the old episodes and he tolerates what he does, these new writers suck and they should get the old writers back.

I know this is Bogus of what these New Writers are doing to the Characters, and if I was a Writer I wouldn't have Squidward and Plankton go through such Hardships with this Bad Luck, I would have them do some sort of Accomplishments because they're my Favorite Characters. plus I think they deserve better.

Props to the writers of now axed Nick shows for never giving into pressure and keeping their characters consistent all throughout. The change in character between each episode in Seasons 4 -6 is getting out of hand. Patrick, for example, seems to be getting personality changes out of nowhere. Sometimes he acts like Spongebob's greatest pal and at other times he is too stupid (not funny stupid) or just no longer Patrick. With so many characters in the show, well, out of character, I wonder if everyone in Bikini Bottom has suddenly become pregnant? O_o (Mood swings usually accompany pregnancy.)

Here'a an idea for the new writers. Give Patrick's OCC personality to someone else in Bikini Bottom, and let Patrick have his old character back! Wouldn't that be a great idea!

Basically, Patrick has gone from being a lovable, funny idiot to being a huge b****.
The new writers seem to be taking that path with his character as well as the type of humor he uses.

Patrick used to be stupid in a funny way (Just watch I Had An Accident. Patrick-"Washing An Old Person" Such a classic!!)

Now, he's stupid in an annoying way, although in Sing A Song Of Patrick, he was annoying and funny.

I wasn't a big fan of Patrick, but I never hated him. But with the new episodes, I'm REALLY starting to hate him.

in I'm with stupid when spongebob pretended to be dumb patrick acted like spongebob really was dumb

in dumped he was a jerk to him when gary left him and wouldn't go back he was even unimpressed by spongebob's attempts to get gary back patrick claimed gary for himself even though he knew how much spongebob loved him.
