    As well as shipping hints, I'd like to see some long-running plot points resolved (such as SpongeBob finally getting his driving license).

    The movie is the end of the series when you look at it chronologically
    as for the final episode... I hope it keeps everything open for the future

    For an ending to the newer series, I'd see it more like a made-for-TV special or movie. Storyline, something incredibly lame probably.

    It was going to be the movie from 2005 but Nick keep it on for the money despite most of the writers including the creator left. But I guess they have proven if you beat a dead horse long enough than money will come out.
