    When Shanghaied premiered, viewers got to vote for which character would get the last wish at the end. The three alternate endings were then shown.

    In 2004, as part of a Burger King campaign to promote The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, inflatable SpongeBob balloons were placed on top of every restaurant. Soon afterwards, people across the country were stealing the balloons.

    SpongeBob is President Barack Obama's favorite TV character, and it is also one of Sasha and Malia's favorite shows.
