Does Squidward Do Anything Nice Anymore?

Hey everybody. Just some quick background info: I've seen all the Season 4 episodes, but only some of the Seasons 5-7 episodes. From what I've seen, I've noticed that we never see Squidward showing his inner goodness anymore, like we used to see on a pretty regular basis in Seasons 1-3. This is definitely the thing that disappoints me the most about the post-movie era.

So I'm asking everybody who's seen all or most of Seasons 5-7: Can you think of any instances in Seasons 5-7 of Squidward doing anything nice? Anything at all? Anything from saying thank you, to being concerned for a character's safety, to giving a character some advice, to sticking up for a character, yada yada.

Ok, here are some I can think about on the spot:

-Waiting: He fixed SpongeBob's toy, even though he just wanted him to stop crying, but he did fix the problem

-Bucket Sweet Bucket: He wanted to help rebuild and decorate the chum bucket.

-20,000 Patties under the Sea: He gave Mr. Krabs advice about what to do about the Krusty Krab not having any customer when mr. K asked him.

-Krabby Road: He wasn't grumpy at all and he was very into the band, happy and buffed and all. lol.

-Slide Whistle Stooges: He played and whistled around Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob and Patrick.

-Giant Squidward: he did nice things for the Bikini Bottomites.

-Dear Vikings: he suggested SpongeBob to write the vikings.

-Grandpappy the Pirate: Mr. Krabs asked him to, I don't know how I can explain this, but blow his head big to look like a monster or something, and he did it just as a favor to Mr. K.

Well, most of these he did good things for his own convenience, but he did it and that's what counts

Hmmm...interesting. Thanks for the info, JellyfishJammer. Some of these I have seen, and yeah, just as I suspected, most of 'em are for his own convenience, although some of them sound promising-----

-Bucket Sweet Bucket: He wanted to help rebuild and decorate the chum bucket.

-20,000 Patties under the Sea: He gave Mr. Krabs advice about what to do about the Krusty Krab not having any customer when mr. K asked him.

-Grandpappy the Pirate: Mr. Krabs asked him to, I don't know how I can explain this, but blow his head big to look like a monster or something, and he did it just as a favor to Mr. K.

This might require some further investigation! (And buying of DVDs!)

It seems every time a good character just happens to be evil or unpopular everyone tries to save their reputation by looking for their 'inner goodness'... When really considering this is a cartoon the only thing that really matters is the quality of their character... However imo i honestly believe Squidward is a nice person, that is to say, if the people about him were normal and had always been so he would be and that Squidville is due entirely to him being used to being surrounded by idiots

I always think that Squiddy has some good in him, no matter what. He's a great character and seems to be the only one with any common sense in the newer seasons.

Welcome to TV.com, SquiddyChick! Here's what I can think of:

The Krusty Sponge - He suggested to Mr. Krabs that he was taking things a little too far.

Breath of Fresh Squidward - I don't even need to say anything here.

Slimy Dancing - He taught SpongeBob how to dance, even if he just wanted himself to win the dance competition.

Atlantis SquarePantis - He was happy to tell SpongeBob and Patrick all about Atlantis.

The Two Faces of Squidward - He was nice to SpongeBob after his surgery and he even seeked his help.

Not Normal - He was very kind welcoming normal SpongeBob into his house, and he even took his advice at the end.

House Fancy - He let SpongeBob help him get his house ready, and was grateful that his house was honored because of him.
Suction Cup Symphony - He was grateful that he became famous thanks to SpongeBob and Patrick.

Penny Foolish - He went along with dressing up for Mr. Krabs' charity night.

WhoBob WhatPants - He helped deeply in the search for SpongeBob, even if it was just because he wanted that egg.

Cephalopod Lodge - He checked out what SpongeBob and Patrick had to make up for his banishment at the lodge, even if he did reject it. He also let them go through with their albino eel plan.

Oooh, interesting...might have to check this one out too.

Lol! I know what you mean. Saw this one. I remember it being okay. I should check it out again.

    Mmm-hmmm....

Ooooh, that's true! They were really friendly in that episode.

Ohhhh yeeeaah! He even kinda sacrificed his own weirdness at the end to save SpongeBob!

Er...actually....I didn't really see any...erm gratefulness there. At least not the way I saw it. Sorry. Oh so sorry. Lol, I can't believe I'm being so hard on my favorite character. Must be because at this other forum I just came from, you had to be SUCh a stickler for the cold hard facts or else you would be shot dooowwwn. But, this seems like a kinder, gentler forum.

    Oooh....

Well, thanks for the info! A lot of these eps I have seen and totally forgot about. XD Silly me.
