Don't get me wrong, you guys: I love SpongeBob. But sometiems I feel like Nickelodeon airs the show a little too much. I calculated, and SpongeBob is on about four hours a day. It may not seem like a lot, but remember that Nickelodeon only has about seven hours worth of airing time; the rest go to Nick Jr. and especially Nick @ Nite. But it seems like wheneverI turn Nickelodeon on, it's either SpongeBob or iCarly. So do you think Nickelodeon plays SpongeBob too much?

YEs, definetely. They could are Penguins, Fanby, FOP, Sheen or TUFF Puppy, but they want to play safe and air SB, as they know it brings good ratings. They could add variety, you know. Here in Uruguay SB is shown only one hour a day. We have TONS of variety.

I think it's because of his ratings.

Yeah, me too. SpongeBob has been very successful for them, and I guess they want to keep it like that.

I know why Nickelodeon does it: SpongeBob gets on average between 5-8 million views per episodes. Except for Penguins, the other shows barely make the 5 million mark, and Penguins usually doesn't go to far above 5 million. The same thing applies to iCarly. But if Nickelodeon keeps it airing this much, people, even fans, are gonna get sick of it and stop watching it, or at least watch it MUCH less than before.

That's exaclty what I was saying: they don't want to risk losing ratings by airing another shows, so they want to keep safe by airing Spongebob and iCarly, instead of adding variety such as TUFF Puppy, Sheen, BTR, Victorious, Barnyard, FOP, Penguins, Fanboy, True Jackson or Troop.

I think SpongeBob is shown too much at the wrong times. I mean, SpongeBob is the only show that is aimed at most audiences- so it's played in the morning and afternoon as well. Unfortunately, SpongeBob has been dominated by shows like iCarly and Big Time Rush, which take away for SpongeBob to have good times.

But,T.U.F.F Puppy is second place place behind SB every week,so idk if its necessarily a risk.

I think SpongeBob should air maybe 2 hours a day (8:00-9:00, taking a half hour away from Nick Jr., and 5:00-6:00). No more, no less.

spongebob has A LOT more episodes than any of those other shows. they have more episodes to air, from 7 different seasons. most, if not all, of those other shows have only one or two seasons, and so if nick did air those other shows a lot, people would probably get tired, whereas with spongebob, they have so many episodes, they don't always play the same episodes over and over.

Well SpongeBob is a money maker, so they will milk it for what it's worth. Nickelodeon is basically living off of it at this point.

Personally though, I don't mind cause it is the only show I watch on this channel.

That's the way I feel. But the only reason I brought it up is because I feel bad for fans of Fairly Odd Parents, Penguins, and the rest of Nick's shows.

Yes they do, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

A simple solution (in my opinion) is to play Spongebob for 2 hours a day, and play the classic nick shows for the rest of the hours (Penguins of Madagascar could be played occasionally too).

Not a bad solution, and yes, I do think Nick plays Spongebob too much.

I think it's too much. However the classic seasons(1-3) never get old. I think they could try airing some older shows that they already have that they haven't used in a while and see if they get good ratings.
