Do you think Spongebob got stupider at the end of season 5? For example, in the episode "Penny Foolish," why does Spongebob do an interpretive dance just because he found an old piece of gum? And also in "Boating Buddies," when Squidward explains his side of the story, why does Spongebob act like an idiot by breathing like he does? I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I think he looks stupider, (mainly because his cheeks started to point inward all the time instead of upward.)

I agree with you on some of that, but I think he's still smart. I think they're just trying to give him more personality. At least he doesn't use stupid words like "stupider".

Man, funny people claim SpongeBob is stupid nowadays, then THEY use words like "stupider." I don't think he's gotten more stupid, maybe more high-strung though.

OK, that's twice somebody accused me of using "Stupider" when it isn't a word. I checked in the American Century Dictionary before I brought this up, and "Stupider" is in there, so please don't blame me. I'm trying not to sound like a jerk, and don't know if I'm doing a good job, but please just tell me your opinion in a less accusatory fashion. (If you're still not convinced, look on Microsoft Word.)

I was just thinking the same thing . It's on Dictionary.com as well.
I don't know why people were saying otherwise.
