SpongeBob SquarePants: Do parodies offend you?

I'm not very sensitive when it comes to content, so I don't mind watching a few off-color parodies of SpongeBob. However, I remember last year in the SpongeBobCommittee chat, I posted a video of SpongeBong HempPants, and the people there got very offended. Sure, I'm a diehard SpongeBob fan, but I don't get why any SB would take offense to a satirical video that is not technically bashing the show.
I could maybe understand it if it were a video like SpongeBob SickPants (which I don't recommend anyone here to watch), but I think we need to lighten up if we see a silly video like SpongeBob in China. You gotta admit, "Robot Chicken"'s SpongeBob/Sandy skit was rather funny.

So, what do you guys think? Is it wrong for an SB fan like me to find parodies entertaining? Should people get defensive if someone portrays their favorite TV character in a non-tasteful way? I mean, it's just a show.

I don't mind them. It's not like they soil the show's reputation, given that it's not the show parodying itself.

I must say, I found "SpongeBob in China" pretty funny- as it wasn't as much spoofing SpongeBob, but more of a parody on chinese culture.

EDIT: But SpongeBong HemPants, I found that a little bit offensive...

And after the first 43 seconds of SpongeBob SickPants, I needed to wash my eyeballs.

most of the parodys i dont mind but some are just idiotic
