Most people would say The Splinter but I don't think it's that bad. Battle of Bikini Bottom is disgusting the whole time.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that one. That one is gross, especially that scene with Patrick's armpit.

I agree with Spongeseb about the splinter one. It WAS painful to watch how he got it!

I know what you all mean with that. When I tried to show someone the episode (I'm keeping their identity private for clear reasons), they couldn't look at the extreme closeup of SB getting the splinter for more than about a second and a half. And this grossed them out more than the time I showed them the scenes from "Plankton's Regular" with Plankton and SB's skin ripping off (they could actually look at those scenes without closing their eyes unlike the splinter scene). So I understand why a lot of you think that the grossest episode of all is "The Splinter." Personally, I wouldn't like to wake up to a picture of that nasty-looking thing.

If that happened, the episode would probably be banned.

It's funny how we're all mentioning episodes from seasons 4-7. What about seasons 1-3? There were some pretty gruesome scenes there.

One that rings a bell is MM and BB IV. It's hard to watch Squidward get chopped in half with scissors.

Yeah but Ren and Stimpy was a children's cartoon and it made up for being gross by having great episodes (well the 1st 2 seasons were great but the creator of that show was fired from his own show after and nickelodeon made a bunch of stupid episodes after that without him). I don't find shows like Spongebob and Ren and Stimpy to be that gross, Ren and Stimpy was ahead of it's time though, that's why it was so controversial people just weren't ready for it. Spongebob, I would say came out at the perfect time cause people had already gotten use to shows like south park (my favorite show) so gross-out humor and other stuff parents would complain about with Ren and Stimpy wouldn't matter by the time Spongebob had came out.If I had to choose the grossest episode though, it would probably be the splinter. I actually like that episode unlike most people but it is kinda gross. The only episode I really don't like though is cephalopd lodge (it was just weird and kinda stupid to me).

Well, I see what you mean. I'll they would have made it a lot more grossly detailed, though, had it been a Season 6 episode. But look at it this way. At least they didn't show Squidward when he started making all of those weird screaming noises. Who knows what could have been happening to him then?

It wasn't that gross, but it was kind of dumb.
