    Here is the production process.

Notes: It takes 10-11 months to make an eleven minute episode. Also the writers submit premises and outlines for stories; They don't write the script. Also, they have to send the story ideas to Nickelodeon for approval.

1): Once a premise is approved it goes to the storyboard directors who write the dialogue and draw the picture.

2): In other words, the storyboard follows dialogue, action, and sound effects. But before the storyboard stage, Banks and the three writers who work under him must create stories and "pitch" or present them to the co-cxecutive producer, Paul TIbbitt.

3): Once the animation is completed and approved, they are sent to Korea; where the animation is accordingly done. When it is complete, it is sent back to the studio, and Paul Tibbit decides where the music and sound effects be. He turns it over to Nick Carr, who selects the music. Sound Effects is added last, the final mix is done, and the show is finished.

That's really interesting that the writers don't write the episode. I read in an old magazine why they do this, but I still think they should be able to.

Yeah, I agree with you. I never realized that the writers' roles weren't what they sounded like.

So maybe people shouldn't blame the writers if there's a bad joke in there. It's the animator's fault!

You're right, ShrinkinViolet. I totally agree with you, now that you point that out.

I was reading in magazine that the writers DO put some jokes in the episodes; they include it in the outline. But what I noticed is that most of them, especially the funniest ones, get cut out.

Nope. I still blame the writers. They may not make the script, which I knew from the beginning, but they still make the outlines which basically determines what happens in the episode. The storyboarddirectors can make the most, excellent, clever dialogue possible, but itwon't work if the outlines suck. So I still blame the writers.

I see where you're coming from. And, yeah, good jokes ARE only possible if the outline is well written.
