As we all know spongebob has no or little continuity but if the show did have it, what do you think it would be like?

I don't know; it probably wouldn't do too well. One of the reasons why I think "Jimmy Neutron" and "The Fairly OddParents" went downhill is because they used to much continuity and it ruined the simplicity that both shows started out with. I mean, it really gets on my nerves when they keep returning villains who really should've just been one-timers.

Though, there are some times where I wish SpongeBob would use more continuity, such as with the upcoming episode "Gary in Love". Hello, what about his relationship with Snellie in "The Great Snail Race"?

Yeah. I totally agree, SBSeb. Plus, what about Ghost Host? Squidward says he doesn't believe in ghosts yet he's seen the Flying Dutchman more than once. And what about Sandy? She turns from a karate expert to a scientist. WTF?

She is still a karate expert. But right now, she's just an expert respectively.

I know. Whoever recycled the plot, I bet one of the writers never saw that episode.

Well, it's not like they're completely oblivious of the first three seasons, otherwise they wouldn't have returned characters such as Squilliam and Hans.

Yeah, that's one of the main reasons why I never got into "Total Drama Island". You have to watch every single 30-minute episode in order and I've never found the time to do so.

Shows like that aren't as easy to follow or entertaining. BUT AVATAR ROCKS.

I think the only form of continuity should be characters referencing previous events. For example, remember in "Born to be Wild" when Squidward started talking about times when SpongeBob over reacted? I feel like, in that seen, they could have shown a scene from "Wormy" when they over react about the butterfly.

Overall, I think the episodes do take place one after another, but they just don't reference each other. Of course, there are some that take place in the past. For example I think "The Krusty Krab Training Video" is meant to happen soon after SpongeBob becomes a fry cook. Also "Christmas Who?" is told in past tense, so it probably happened earlier in the story, maybe before "Jellyfishing" since Patrick wishes Squidward a Merry Christmas.

The movie might take place after the season three and before season four, but it could also be after the events of the entire series.

LOL. Maybe I shouldn't be thinking about this. This show isn't about story. It's about entertaining the audience.

Yeah, that's the thing that kind of annoys me. That's one of the very few things I didn't like about the "Truth or Square" special (even though I thought the movie itself rocked). They could've shown actual flashbacks from previous episodes like when they were reminiscing on all the times when Squidward fell asleep on the job, when SpongeBob redecorated, etc.

Yeah, truth or square should have had real flashbacks
