"Squidsward?" Lol, they spelled it wrong

Well, overall I think Squidward is a pretty good character. I can totally understand why he acts the way he does. I like music, and dancing, too.

But, (sigh!), here's his only downfall that misunderstandable:

In the season one episode "Fools In April", Squidward asks himself why is it that when he tries to have fun, it's wrong? Well, I can't answer that question, but it is absolutely TRUE. I've seen several episodes where everytime he is enjoying himself or having fun, it causes caos and an angry mob to stir up. This is why it is better for him to stick to his old no-fun self. I only wish that just for once that he doesn't create havoc when he is having a good time. Sorry.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Like on Slide Whistle Stooges! They nearly killed him just because he was having fun with some dumb wistle

Squidward, in my opinion, is the only character in the show who has stayed sane throughout all the seasons.

I think the best analogy for what SpongeSebastian said would be Mr Burns in The Simpsons. Whilst he changed quite dramatically from an everyday boss type into a supervillain in the early seasons, his classic season 2-6 character has remained fairly consistent throughout. I think both are good characters and show that a solid enough character can only be whittled down by destruction and not warping.

Ok, I was partially wrong. I have seen Squidward have fun and not cause mayhem, but like I said, he often goes overboard whenever he is having a good time.

Ugh, I wish the writers would stop torturing Squidward! Sometimes, I feel really sorry for him Although, like I said, sometimes when he wins or is having the time of his life, he pushes things a bit too far and acts like a show-off. But, that's no excuse for having him suffer all the time.

    Hmm, old thread, but whatever.

Squidward I think is areally good character on the show! He is funny! And things were going great with Squidward throughout the first three seasons with no one complaining about any harsh treatment towards him. Squidward had some good times back then! But when season four, five, and six, and seven, came around... BOOM! Squidward gets nailed WAY too hard.

These four episodes I mark as Squidward torture and miserable failures that I wish will never see the light of day again at some point in the future:

    1. Good Neighbors.

    2. Squid Wood.

    3. Boating Buddies.

    4. Cephalopod Lodge-and I can add more to the list if you want.

Same goes for Shnitzel (Mung's rock monster assistant from Chowder if you are unfamiliar with him). I think that he's being kicked around a bit, too (may I recall the episodes Shnitzel Makes A Deposit, Shnitzel and the Lead Farfel, Thousand Pound Cake, and Garage Sale?)
