He/she's right, season 5 had 3 specials (Friend or Foe, Pest of the West, WhoBob WhatPants) AND a tvmovie (Atlantis SquarePantis)!

Yeah, there was a ton of specials in season 5, so it's possible for there to be more than 1 special in season 7. Plus, if you count Truth Or Square, Spongebob's Last Stand, Neptune's Party ( Which is coming soon) and this rumored special, then there would be 4 in season 7. Though, if you minus Truth or Square and Neptune's Party seeing as they are TV movies, then there would be at least 2.
By the way guys, i think i just saw a commercial for this episode. I happened to hear them mentioning New episodes of shows on Feburary 15th, and they showed a commerical for a New Spongebob episode, which is probably Back To The Past, although i didn't get a good look at the commercial, because i heard the commercial and didn't enter the room until near it ended. But i think it was this episode.

Well lots of Tv shows have episodes like this. Phineas and Ferb, Lilo and Stitch, The Simpsons and even more. By the way, I saw the commercial too. It showed Mermaidman with a hairnet, Spongebob and Patrick being cloned, and Sponge and Pat in a time machine. Now that you think of it, this episode reminds me of SB 129 and other time travel episodes.

I saw that commercial again, and it does indeed look like this episode.
Yeah, i saw that scene with MermaidMan getting a hair net put on him too. I guess that means he will work at the manray version of The Krusty Krab ( As seen in the clip), like you guys said.
At least they finally decided to focus on another villian who isn't plankton.
