No, my dad, stephen, is pronounced (ste-ven), so they can be pronounced the same.

the wording in the commercials thus far are pretty stupid. these two in particular:

the one with the announcer saying 'boy meets girl, boy goes to LA, boy meets another girl, boy is this getting confusing'... um, how is that confusing? obviously the 'boy' in this case (Steven/Stephen?) is cheating on Carly with Tori and Tori with Carly. That's not 'confusing' in the slightest.

the one where they say 'for the first time ever'... um, iCarly has been on since 2007, and Victorious has been on for a year and a month. what, did we all expect a crossover between these two shows, when Victorious had just started? It's not like both shows have been on for the same amount of time or something.

I'm just saying the wording in the ads are dumb. That said, i am looking forward to this and think it will be good. I'm not a big fan of Victorious but i still think this will turn out to be good.

lol i see what you mean, but i guess the announcer said that because to CARLY it's kinda confusing...or maybe im wrong and those words were just stupid.

i get that but the announcer is talking to us, the audience, and so to say 'boy this is getting confusing', it implies that to the audience, it would be confusing. which would not be true

I'm not trying to confuse anyone haha.

in the ad, it says 'boy meets girl, boy goes to la, boy meets another girl, boy is this getting confusing.' my point: that's not confusing. it's obviously implying that the 'boy' is cheating on both girls with each other. there is nothing confusing about that.

hurr05 said 'maybe the announcer was talking about carly'. to which i said that the announcer in the commercial is talking to the audience that is watching it. so, saying 'boy is this confusing', it is implying that it would be confusing to the audience, the people watching the commercial. but it is not confusing because it's obvious that the boy (Stephen) is cheating on them. there's nothing confusing to that.

that's all i'm trying to get at haha

Yes, it is. You know, the......hm....I have no idea how to spell this, so I'll just say "the usual".....anyone else remember when Sam/Freddie were doing some bet and they bet the usual, only they didn't say "usual", they said the shorter version....I was trying to make a joke but it doesn't work because I have NO idea how you would spell that. lol. Nvm. It only makes sense in my head. Also the "usual", lol. ;-)
